One of the aforementioned drop-off froze one of his feet a few weeks ago. No idea how, but I figure he's older and getting bad circulation. I was taking him to the block but Richard made me bring him in the house. He's still here, now recovering and hopping around the kitchen :/

Tom, this looks like a very respectable Blue Wyandotte cockerel, if you don't have any hens to go with him, I can probably add one so you can sell them as a pair?

Hana..i still have him..he's a very nice bird..in with the pullets and three EE roosters..he's the boss without being a brute...the EEs have got to get sorted out soon....the one pullet i have laying olive eggs lays so erratically its kinda sad..but shes a nice girl too..i might take you up on the offer. :running-chicken:

If you want to post him up for sale, with a note that there is a Blue Wyandotte hen available from me to make a pair, then whoever buys him, can purchase a hen from me.
With a disclaimer ......only available to a purchaser of Tom's cockerel.

Even after all these years, it still surprises me that there is actually difference in temperament in different breeds.
I have raised Silver laced, Columbian, Blue and White Wyandottes and the only variety that had an unpleasant tempreamant were the Whites, they were hatchery bird and obviously not "All Wyandottes", and had a very short life here.
The rest of them without fail, good laid back birds and although friendly, by the time they are 4-5 month old the are busy working birds and don't really have time for petting and making friends with people and the cockerels once they realize that's what they are will seldom take a treat from hand and mostly just drop it for the hens.
The last three cockerels I was growing out, at 7 month have worked out a system, the dominant one decided he was a boss and the two smaller ones are hens, so he was giving them treats and showing them where to lay the eggs.
