Asking for help from Eastern Ontario PTO members

Post by Dominion Link » Tue Jan 05, 2016 9:03 pm

My wife had arranged to buy the livestock guard dog in the attached ad as of this morning. It had been a bit of a vetting process, but all was a go for us to pick her up this coming weekend. We received a message from the owner tonight saying that the dog had been stolen. There had been many enquiries about the dog and the owner feels that she was stolen by one of those who had contacted her via the ad. So, we're asking that if any of our eastern Ontario PTO members see a dog like this suddenly arrive in their rural neighbourhood, please let us know.

Thank you,
Dean

That's terrible. There is suspected to be a ring of dog thieves as many dogs have gone missing the last two years around Pakenham, Arnprior and Renfrew. Heads up to one and all.

That is too bad. A co-worker of mine had their dog stolen this past weekend from the Elgin/Portland area of Eastern Ontario.

That's horrible! DL, did you put a deposit on her? If you are willing, and possibly have any updated pictures, I can post her on the Lost Pets Network...the members have a pretty good track record for getting lost and stolen animals home.

windwalkingwolf, no deposit paid and the only photos that I currently have access to are the ones on the ad. The puppy photos show her markings pretty well and the older photos are accurate regarding her current size and build. She comes to her name, Indy, being called. Feel free to share- thank you.

WLLady, I don't know if she has a tattoo or chip. Chantelle had been doing all the corresponding and while the dog is a purebred, I don't actually know if she is registered or not. Will find out. Thank you.

Thanks everyone else.

I wouldn't rule out coyotes depending on the details of her disappearance as this was a very young dog and solo so would be prime pickings for coyotes. They are incredibly clever at tricking dogs into following them....
I hope she is found safe though, it's tragic when they disappear.
