Here is a WEE bit of what has been going on. This is NOTHING, but if you have them going up around you, Turbines, run. away.
The allowable distant to a home for a non-participating home is 550m
On all engineering, stamped and approved, MOECC, stamped and approved documents our land is vacant. Meaning no house no buildings. My home was built in 1990.
Background: T89 is 680m from my house. It is 412'm from my property line.
T84 is just over 1.01km from my home.
T65 is 1.02 from my home.
The sub transfer station is 900m from my home. Not my property line, from my home.
The Niagara Wind Project is the largest approved on shore turbine approved in North America. They stand at 124m tall. Each blade is 48.6m long. They are 3.0 MW systems. They truly are monsters.
After receiving an email asking for an update on our situation I thought I'd share some of my reality.
Dear *****
Hope you and your family are well and enjoyed the holiday season.
Things aren't getting any better unfortunately.
I am still on a prescription to remain in my home. Although I have the symptoms everyday they are less and allow me to get some work done. I work from home and I'm a business owner, so it really isn't an option unless I intend to go bankrupt. There are still days when my ears are almost unbearable with the pressure and those days I have to leave my home and even stay away for 24+ hours sometimes.
I can't sleep through the night and when I am sleeping I am woken often. I have tried every level of the house and every room. Nothing is helping. This is new to me. I am truly exhausted and some days feel 'intoxicated'.
I also have a pressure on my chest and throat with it being hard to catch my breath or even to take a deep breath to satisfy the lungs. This is new within the last month as well. Carmen explained it to me as 'cavity capture'. Just when you think you're going crazy, someone feeds you some information.
I am also getting regular nose bleeds. These noise bleeds seem to happen after I get a pressure sensation in my head, ears will pressure up and my scalp will tingle. Then within an hour, maximum, I have a nose bleed. They were maybe every 7/8 days as the IWT's first started to bother me, now they are almost daily. About 5 times a week.
We also have to continue to have the windows open for me to relieve the pressure in my head. If the windows are closed it builds and builds and the pain from the inside of my head shoots outwards and I can't tolerate it. The windows open are causing us to consume a lot of extra wood. I have also made Boralex aware of that.
My son continues to have to leave his home. He is very bothered by the IWT's with headaches, disturbed sleep, plugged ears and sinus pressure. He said he feels like he has a terrible head cold at home, then he goes to work or leaves the area and he says he's a different person.
I really struggle with the emotions of not protecting him from harm or being able to provide a safe home for him. He is anaphylaxis to peanuts and tree nuts, also has ADHD, and we have always raised him with his home being his safe haven. There isn't any foods that will harm him or judgement for any 'disabilities' in his safety zone; his home. I have let him down and the emotional impact this is having on myself is overwhelming.
I have called the spills action line a few times. I try not to be a nuisance but there are days when it is simply unbearable and I can't get a break from the 'jet plane that never lands.' The clunking and rattling is absolutely obnoxious and when it is windy it is beyond tolerable. Also forcing me from my home to sleep. I took videos of the last episode of the rattling and clunking. I have video of the turbines out of control with noise too. As you know it is very hard to pick up these noises on a cell phone and the fact I am able is to speaks volumes.
MOECC. I have given him until the end of today to get his

Tomorrow I fire him. He is not knowledgeable or respectful to the situation and talks with a tone of ignorance and I would say biased and almost like I am annoying him. He point blank told me on his first site visit he wanted to hand it off to a senior person who had more knowledge or at the very minimum work along side a more
Senior technician. He doesn't know the basic info, like a non-participant set back is 550m. He originally told me 700m then 750 m and then checked and wrote back saying 550m. He also told me that the discrepancies were minor. I hardly think that a miscalculation on distance is minor, or my home being marked at a vacant lot is minor. A complete biased attitude that I am not willing to tolerate. I will be asking for his supervisor contact information tomorrow and I will request a more competent technician to assist me and ensure the turbines operate within their noise allowances. He has not reached out to me once since he was to be on site. Not once. That is a complete disregard to all and any concerns I have put forth. I won't stand for it.
I haven't heard from Boralex either. But I do believe the holidays has interfered with his communication and I did hear from him just before Xmas saying he had to discuss my concerns further with S********.
M**** K**** came out and did some electricity testing. The next step is to test the ground frequency when the turbines are off. (T89 & T84). I have only seen them shut off for the majority of the day once since they started up. This last portion of the testing could be a challenge.
We have also started to notice shocks. For example, turning light switches off and sometimes on, we will get a shock. And it's a good snap! I touch the door handle on my truck and i got a shock; Very odd since the truck as tires. I'm still monitoring this and have to look into it to see if the turbines are playing a role in that.
The bunny still hasn't regained his balance. He's been to the vet again and I got them to put his ER wax under a Scope - look for a bacterial, viral or yeast issue. It was also noted at the vets office that he regained his balance and was running around fine. There was no definitive reason determined by thee vet for his loss of balance. Within 30 mins of being back at home he lost his balance again. I'm in the process of attempting to find him a new home, but to find someone who will take care of him to my high standards is proving to be a challenge.
Thank you for checking in. Is there anything I can do to be more involved?
Cheers,
Sandy
