Good Morning!
sorry, we are still having some issues....apparently the "fix" that was "the fix" wasn't actually "the fix" or "a fix" at all, so martin is back on his board looking for advice from the guys that do programming....really appreciate your patience, all of you....sorry about these glitches. enough to drive us insane. the other one that had us laughing is our spam filter caught every single one of the "happy new year" posts. LOL.
beautiful day today. with hubby's help (and a lot of rest this morning) i got into my work coat (ug, heavy!) and we went outside and made it the whole way to the barn! hubby brought my walker so i could sit in the barn and he fed the horses some pellets so i could say hi. the neighbours were shooting so the horses were pretty skittish so i opted to just keep my distance....can't afford a stray head toss right now. the barn smelled sooooooo good. hay, and chickens and horses and turkeys....and sounded amazing too! i might sleep tonight. so far so good on the healing...i should be getting approximately 67 or so staples out this week! whoohoo! hopefully it's all healing up well, i don't know, can't see it, but the VON nurse that has been coming to change the bandage says it looks pretty darned good for just under 2 weeks out of surgery. still need the pain drugs, but nothing like at the hospital! and nothing like before surgery either! all that blasted pain is gone....and the best christmas/birthday present combo ever-my left leg and toes and ankle and everything WORKS. i mean something that hasn't worked in 2 years is awake and working! Man, you guys, watch out when i'm up and running again!!!! i can't wait! followup is february and i got a whole lot of nothing to do until then LOL.
still can't sit for any length of time, but martin set up my computer so i can use it laying in bed! yay! he's awesome! also hired in a cleaning service to help him out....small steps. not entirely fun by any stretch of the imagination, and not sure that i would want a second surgery but it was worth doing this one i think. now i can start dreaming about what i'm going to do once i'm back on my feet. (insert evil rubbing of hands together and evil cackling laughter here). short term, i'm going to settle for figuring out how to sleep through the night for once....and getting rid of the walker....44 using a walker. gah. oh well, only took almost hitting the floor at the hospital while using the walker to realize i might just be mortal.....the surgery ended up being a longer fusion than they thought, so i'm now fusing from T10 to S2 with screws across to my pelvis as well. so my bottom ribs are bit out of sorts, and everything from there down is a bit tingly, but slowly waking up. they'd originally planned a T11 to S1....but i guess i was in such bad shape going into surgery inside they opted to extend it instead of do 2 surgeries. i appreciate that.
i really hope everyone has had an awesome christmas break! and that everyone has a great new years. sure has been a year of challenges again for me and @poultry_admin, but we're getting through it. a quieter year will be welcome.
and we're working on the board posting/reading issues....somewhere somehow some update happened, and we just have to find the magic piece of code that is posing the issue.....
have a great evening everyone.

Good Morning!
Kathy...your surgery scares the crap out of me. All these stories I hear about folks with back problems and how surgery didn't help or (aaack) made it worse.
You are better, things look good, take the time to get strength and flexibility and push yourself but not too fast. Listen to your doctors, and use your wisdom.
I had a nasty injury as a teenager: my left leg and foot.. 7 broken bones..in traction a couple of weeks. I was young, healthy, and in shape...i'd do a pullup so the orderly could change the sheets on my bed. The docs were amazed by my healing speed.
I am sure I set speed records on crutches.
Today I appreciate each day I can walk and my strength and balance on the left leg are good.
One day at a time, you'll get there...ole buddy Bert.

Good Morning!
Oh Martin you are a good man! That's terrific.
Kathy that sounds like one heck of a surgery...Can't imagine the pain you must have been in. Very glad that you are already feeling a difference...That's such a great sign. Nerves take a long time to heal. I still get a cattle prod jolt in my butt cheek if I look down and to the left too fast and that's years after surgery lol. Small price to pay.
Hope you continue along this fast recovery path and may every day be even better than yesterday.

Good Morning!
If there was and is one thing I am certain of, it's Kathy will recover and be better than ever. If being basically crippled and disabled before put me to shame with her accomplished to-do list, I can't wait to see what gets done once she's recovered and able bodied. Look out world!!
Well I am really out of the loop. I haven't read the good morning thread in quite some time. I hope everyone is healthy, happy and had a great holiday break.
Have a good day y'all!
Cheers,
Sandy

Good Morning!
thanks for the thoughts everyone! i'm just soooo happy we have PTO....otherwise the boredom.....O.....M.....G.....every day is a little bit better than the last. and i think today, at least this morning i have ditched the walker (but will keep it close just in case!). so far so good! now, if i can figure out how to stave off the HEAT that happens when i eat anything...i can feel the protein being sucked up into my muscles. i don't think i have ever been so weak in my life! but i'm feeling good enough today to try out some more stairs, and maybe i'll even make it upstairs today! novelty. i live in this house and i've been stuck on the first floor since i got home from surgery.
another gorgeous looking day out. i'll take it! -1 with sun is so much better than +1 and cloud and miserable drizzly rain. i have 2 amaryllis plants that will bloom this year! i keep them year to year, and one year i cross fertilized them and saved seeds and 5 or 6 bulbs grew and i've been nurturing them for about 6 years now. LOL. finally getting big enough they might do something! yay!
so far i haven't had any issue with the loading of pages either so fingers crossed.....let us know if any of you have issues.....
have a great day everyone!!

Good Morning!
Good morning all,
Beautiful bright morning, Kathy on the mend and I am back from a personal adventure that doesn't bare describing, while KB held my hand figuratively, representing PTO admirably. :)
That's all you are getting, I am not the sharing type, but like SHE said, PTO was a great help.
All the best in this brand new year.
PS, Kathy I couldn't make sense of your picture and thought perhaps you were held against your will :0
so showed it to DH he stared at it for a while and then turned my laptop sideways, phew, what a relief!!!

Good evening everyone! Day 16 post surgery and i think i slept all day. Lol. I think www posted in my other thread let the itching really begin lol. 66 staples and 16 stitches removed yesterday and holy crap the itching is crazy!!!!
But it feels much much better without te huge bandage now. Just steristrips. Like a while package of them lol
Wind is howling here. A wee touch of snow and cold....
Finished book number 1 from the bookself. Got tomorrows dinner into the crockpot....and now i am done again.
We are still noticing off and on issues with the forum-please be patient with us and let us know if you have issues.
