Why is there an angel on top of the Christmas tree?
Well, it was getting close to Christmas and things weren't good at the North Pole. The elves were on strike, the reindeer had distemper, the sleigh runners were rusty. Mrs. Claus was in one of her moods. Then a little angel walked in dragging a Christmas tree and said "What do you want me to do with this Christmas tree Santa?"
And that's why there is an angel on top of the Christmas tree.
