Yes but not like barn pigeons just short flights from floor to roost etc that's the courting / mating pose . They are not allowed free flight . They deflate to eat , drink etc . Lots of interaction you buckitty coo at them & they blow the globe & dance around spreading their tail & bowing & cooing back .

Lol I remember my grampa doing that with his racers. I remember rolling my eyes about how much he loved those birds...now I get it.

Very pretty! Their faces are so sweet...like those Cupie dolls.
So I've gotta ask...do you eat pigeon eggs ever? I know they don't lay like chickens...just curious.
Do your pigeons brood all their own?

Yes I've ate the eggs & pigeons as well . They've always been poor mans food . In the old days across the pond they flew free & ate where they found food & came home to roost & raise babies called squabs . Very tasty . Most , even show birds will hatch there own but some short beak feathered heads like Jacs have trouble feeding . Like all critters bred for show many have the parenting skills bred out . Then we use what's called feeders , rollers , homers , cross breds etc to hatch & raise . Some show folk hand feed / raise .

I only asked because I know my grandfather did. He came from Ireland when he was 16 and that's where he learned the hobby. He swore they kept him healthy!
