Wynn - what you're not (k)nowing?
Ok, if there's one person who is on the top of my hate list right now it's Wynn.
If you're looking to fuel that fire give this a read.
I seriously just contemplated open firing on these wind turbines. To be specific, turbine number T84 & T89 of the Niagara Wind Power project.
I will write more when I am not furious, and just wait till I tell you the errors I have found on stamped, certified engineer forms approved by the MOE.

Somebody, PLEASE, stop the crazy train and let me off.

I don't understand why she was voted back in, but this has happened in federal elections too. It's not until everyone is totally p-ed off that change happens. Outrageous!

Okay here's my two cents worth. I don't think windturbines have done more damage in the last 10,000 then anything else. Look at what a city the size of Toronto has done to wildlife and the environment. I don't think a field of turbines is pretty, but I don't think a city skyline is pretty either. If we want electricity we need to deal the environmental consequences. I believe that all mass produce sources of electric power have a negative impact on the environment. I don't think any one hydro source is to blame, it's all governmental. The way windturbines are being handled is stupid and criminal. It's kinda like pulling up railway tracks and selling the steel to China, only to put more transport trucks on the road and them complain about vehicle emissions?

Criminal. Yes. But as you know, the government is clearly above the law. The federal government overrode the MTO when they rejected the installation of turbines around airports in Niagara for safety. So, who gets to crash and die first? Wouldn't be the only crash and death around airports associated with turbines. The Federal government removed municipal government levels rights when it came to The Green Energy Act. How very parliamentary of them.
It's not ONLY about appearance it's about negative health impacts, efficiency, cost effectiveness etc and at the end of the day, money money money. Wind turbines will last a MAXIMUM of 20 years. Then left to rust-rot as the $400,000 to a $1,000,000 to take them down, well we know the lease owners won't pay, the government owner won't pay, the wind energy companies won't pay, but don't worry, the Ontario tax payers will pay. We have a few turbines that are less than a year old and a few older out of commission around here, but to fix them is too costly, so they'll sit physically dormant, production dormant but not visually dormant.
If you read what EACH turbine is composed of there is nothing renewable or green energy about them. Nothing. This bull paddies the residents of Ontario have been fed is criminally fraudulent.
The government itself admits health impacts on their websites. Samsung has studies under lock and key. Got nothing to hide? Show it.
I did not sign a lease. I did not sign a gag order (complimentary when you sign a lease). I did not get a cheque that replaces the loss of value in my home and land. Most importantly I did not sign up to feel 'ill' every single day so Ontarians can turn their lights on. That's bull paddies. There are so many other alternatives that don't have detrimental health impacts, but greed and money always trumps The little person.
When my own child prefers to not stay at home due to the headaches and cabin pressure in his ears and it affects my relationship with him, I can not convey into words the storm that is brewing in me.
with me, one thing, mess with my kids and it's a full on war!
Crown land represents 85% of Ontario. Enough said.

It's always been the way, if the government wants your land it just takes it, lucky if you get 0.10 cents out of them.

I agree, but look at nuclear power. How many thousands of years are the spent fuel rods still dangerous.... We will eventually run out of storage for them. I wouldn't want a turbine in my back yard either. There should be regulations for housing set backs (hard in Ontario with our population) and even further from airports.goatgal35 wrote:QR_BBPOST Okay here's my two cents worth. On another front, having lived in Alberta for 10 years, Why do Ontario people call power "hydro"? Hydro is the Greek word for water. Only 10-15% of the power in Ontario is "hydro" generated. Niagra falls power generation, from what I'm told, only produces enough power for the Niagra falls area. Not Ontario.
Simply put, we waste so much of every thing, including power. That is why I'm hooking up with the fabulous people on PTO,so I can live a little more sustainably. You and Mother Earth News (magazine).

I'm not saying get rid of the stupid people, I'm saying do away with the warning labels and let the problem work its self out.

Because coal and nuclear power plants produce electricity by heating water :)pipes wrote: On another front, having lived in Alberta for 10 years, Why do Ontario people call power "hydro"? i think the big problem for sandy is that there are minimum set backs but they think her property is vacant!!!! NOT! and they didn't even check to see if there was anyone living there!
