Stay safe those who are going to get it, I hope it misses me, although I've got my lights up ready to go.

Winter Storm Warning!

Post by muffin57 » Fri Nov 18, 2016 3:07 pm

It was raining last night, turning to freezing rain around 3:30 am, turning to snow around 1 pm today. It is a wet snow. The snow will become heavier, or should I say is starting to come down heavier. Yes, I saw on the weather last night that this low is breaking up by the lake, part going more north and then part your way the GTA.

I don't like this wet freezing stuff for driving or walking, so I am glad we are all home safe. That is how I broke my back in the spring of 2010. I slipped on ice and then found out I have osteoarthritis in all of my whole spine including my neck. That ended my career. A couple of years ago I was diagnosed with osteoporosis too.

The wind is now picking up here and we are getting thunder. Wow, a thunder storm in the snow.

Yes, that was weird Flat Rock Farm, it didn't last long though. It's snow and wind now. Here is a link to the Weather Network regarding the storm. Part of this storm is headed your way for some of you. The major highway 17 here between Ignace and Shabaqua, just west of Thunder Bay was closed earlier today and still remains closed.

Wow, nice Al. I hope you get your deer, before the snow. Good luck!

It is now -4 feeling like -10 going down tonight to -6 feeling like -15. It's difficult to really tell how much snow we have, due to the darkness. Snow and blowing snow is suppose to continue until about noon tomorrow. I thought that I was just going to be able to stay home this weekend, but we just found out late this afternoon that we have a 'Celebration of Life' for a friend tomorrow. This is very difficult, due to the weather and the need to show support for his wife and family. The death was sudden and I wasn't expecting this to take place until next week. Oh well, we are going to do our best depending if we can get out of our yard.

I have the latest update for southern Ontario or the Weather Network does lol. It's not my fault, just wanting you all to be prepared.

We were experiencing a lot of power surges this evening shutting down my computer, so I had to go off for awhile. At least we still have hydro, as I've heard of others being without.
