The latest of the .22 bird shot shells are real crud. Never had a problem but probably half don't have the plastic top on properly and jam the gun!

i've been looking for shot shells for the .22 for about a year now, and they're "sold out" all over, with no intent to ever not be (according to my local gun store lol).
i think i might just hang some mesh netting through the rafters in the barn and catch them the old fashioned way.....i did manage to scare a few out by chasing with a shovel....but i can't say that it was very good for moral for the chickens lol. i also need to get in there and put a bunch of wire, so at least if they are IN the soffit they STAY in the soffit and don't get into the pens with the chickens. i considered spray foaming the channels where the soffit and flashing meet, but i do need the ventilation so the air isn't stale....so i guess i'll just buy another roll of wire....i want to change the wire on the doors anyways.

well beautiful moon last night, but a cold cold wind....tonight apparently is a supermoon. the second of the year, the third is december 16th. but then the next one is in 2034 or something. was like someone left the light on in the house all night LOL.
well, hubby is sick as a dog and i'm hoping i don't get it. coughing and hacking all day yesterday and all night last night. tis the season i guess. i sure hope he's better soon.

i did get some photos....very disappointed with my wheaten marans boy. he is gorgeous, but he's moulting and there's white fluff showing everywhere. sigh. and my other one is just as bad! so guess he won't be entered. oh well. i need to crop my feed bins out of the photos. lol. and taking photos of turkeys??! not so easy! they're friendly but that means i have a ton of "in your face" pictures. go figure. maybe troy really doesn't need to see their bodies, just a great big huge mug of a face? ;-P

hope everyone has a good day!

It was a gorgeous sight, the moon as I left the driveway this morning. Tried to take a picture, with my phone, but those pictures SUCKED, and there was a cloud going thru it. Only cloud I could see in the freaking sky. Oh well.

Mild this morning!! 6C when I went out at 6:20am. I checked my garlic yesterday, friggin stuff is up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I kicked some dirt over the really high ones. They'd better smarten up..... but this weeks temps are going to be warm for this time of year. Ugh.

Made cookies yesterday, Sawyer helped... and Melissa came over, and she made cookies..... and took them all home, lol. We went for a walk in the bush, it was such as nice day yesterday. Freaking wind tho. When we got back to the house, and as she was leaving, she said she would host the next cookie making marathon, with her ingredients, lol. As in a whole pound of butter, 2 cups of chocolate chips...etc. I made the ones on the cranberry (craisins) pack.... and gave a doz to her, Jess, and Heather for Jacob. He can only have cookies made with store bought ingredients... not bulk store stuff.... and thats what Melissa's cookies were made from.

Well, I have a bee sting app. soon. I will go to the barn when I get home. I don't want to smell like cows while shes shooting me up, lol. Then Gary wants me to 'stalk chop'. Sounds like a fun day.

The moon was amazing last night when it first came up. Later I saw on the news that it's at the closest point it can get to the earth and this won't happen again for some time. They said it should be good again this evening. I used binoculars like they suggested and you can see the craters and such more clear than usual. WLLady in the hunting posts, Ross has a thread about pigeons and he and others were giving me advice on the same problem and about pellet guns etc.

What a lovely mid November day. I was out spending some extra time with my critters and one of my Jakes walked acrossed my foot and now my toe is bleeding. I guess if he is heavy enough to do that he's ready for the freezer. If I wore shoes this time of year I'd have never realized how heavy he is :)

Good morning all! beautiful moon last night! cloudy now, but such amazing weather for november 16! i'll take every single day of this!!!!
hows the toe goatgal?
I have birds to freezer camp this weekend.....lots of boys that are just hanging out and eating me out of house and home. so hopefully the weather will be okay on saturday. sunday is finishing the turkey pens. have the front wire to put on and the doors to wire. I think we are just going to put the front wire straight across and then staple the wire to the doors and the posts and then cut the doors open. the easy way.
was hoping to get to hagersville this friday, but thats not going to happen. RATS! i love stopping in and visiting BVF on the way back! but have too many meetings scheduled for friday. sigh. oh well. today we have training on a nice new piece of equipment! yay! can't wait for that. Love the updated equipment. we can't afford to buy any of it, so it's a shared piece between several labs, and we all chipped in, so it's all up to date and brand new and really high resolution!
alright. next up is an email to HR about how to file for disability...it's time. called the surgeon's office yesterday and my surgery looks like it's postponed until the new year sometime, my surgeon apparently only has 3 surgery dates in december, and doesn't look like i'm on the roster because i take a whole day. so...onwards.....

don't forget to get your entries into the online show!!!! last time i looked we were short on ducks and guineas....(i don't know how anyone could possibly pose a guinea....).
have a great day everyone!

Good morning!
Had a great plan to head for the forest and clear some walking paths that are closing in very fast and woke up to b.....y rain, so there goes that plan,
got a bit complacent in the prey department since the hawks have left, and within hours of separating cockerels from pullets, lost a pullet to a b....y giant owl, at 2;30 in the aft, not a happy camper.
Stopped raining, so of to the bush for some handsaw and clippers therapy.
Keep those Show entries coming, some Junior exhibitors would be nice. :)
Have a good one!

Good morning,
Another beautiful day, foggy and sunny at the same time, the whole place looks magical, tiny droplets of water sparkling on every needle of the spruce trees looks like shimmering silver.
Time to start on Christmas cookie baking one of the last Christmas traditions I still cling to. :)
Have a safe one!
