Good Morning!

Post by Bayvistafarm » Sat Nov 05, 2016 10:49 am

Its a gorgeous morning!! Got up early, despite a late night. Well, getting into bed near midnight is LATE LATE for me. I'm usually in bed lots of times by 7:30--8pm. Then wake up around 2:30-3am... to read, visit the ladies room.... drink water.... read.... visit... blah blah. Oh well.

Went out with Colleen and hubby.... to Woodstock sale... where she took some excess birds. Interesting place! Saw a PTO member... Bodabing..... when leaving. We dropped in on our feed salesman.... he looks after us both... and dragged them out to supper. Back to the sale.... watched the birds sell... collected the money.... Colleen dropped her revenue on McDonalds McFlurries for everyone.... and we had a great time. Gary and I splurged for coffee, and we sucked on that, on the way home. Great night.

Shes coming by shortly with coffee... lol... and her dog Lacy and my granddog Lexi, and Holly are going to walk to the bush. She doesn't know this yet, but going to suggest walking to the waterfall next door. Should be a VERY nice walk... seeing as how the weather is FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Going out to an all you can eat wing dinner/benefit dance for a cousins sick husband with Cancer. Hes not going to survive this. Will be a bittersweet night, visiting with my dad's side of the family, who we just never see any more. Hes an Oakes... and the Ray Oakes band will play also. All country and Western.

Then Melissa and I will go to a pottery show/sale tomorrow... and then shes been asked to take pictures of two families. I guess I'm babysitting, lol.

Well, dogs are barking. Sounds like shes here!!!!!!

Have a great weekend!!

G'day all!!!
Busy night last night-got my deer for the year! Tomorrow the house will smell wonderful with the smells of home made sausages and hamburger patties!!! Need to go and find my bolt yet-found the broadhead in the deer so another one broken...it was worth it. My missing kitty turned up yesterday! Gone 5 days.
We got some mouse traps for the house lol. Will get them set later. Looks like hubby is muskie fishing tomorrow? Should be fun!!! Lots of teeth in this things lol
Having a slow day today after yesterdays up way too late (2am) to get deer in the fridge. Put tree wrap up on the trees. My one plum has black knot...i may just pull it out...sigh. the other seems fine. So fruit tree trunks are wrapped except the one apple that is just too big now. Feed run is done. Time to go find my bolt so the dogs dont find it accidentally when theybare bunny hunting with hubby later in the winter.
Beautiful day out there. For nov 5 i will certainly take this weather!!!
Have a great one everyone!!

Good morning ,
Beautiful morning here, helped a friend with some Christmas greenery harvest from my back four, and was very tempted to just stay there, what a beautiful light just coming in thru the retreating fog, looked just magical.
Some errands to run and then scrub all watering dishes, perfect day for it.
Evening Gardening club meeting which will enable me to completely ignore the elections brouhaha until the "fat lady sings" or whatever will happen when it's over.
Have a safe one!

Good Morning!

Afternoon everyone!
found my bolt on saturday. busted. good excuse to stop in at the new antler ridge archery store sometime in the near future :-) need more bolts...because i can't possibly shoot a deer when i only have 3 left. LOL whatever. i want to stop in at the store anyways.

brouhaha....that's a very apt descriptor for what is going on south of the border right now. quick, there may still be time to build a wall!
i told my dad et al, if they want to move back to canada, we are happy to take them in. :-)

not much new. all the meat is in the freezer. decided if hubby gets a deer i'm making some pepperettes. among other things of course. we have a smoker, and casings....
doing better today after the rough weekend...back is finally feeling a little better. still fragile, but good enough i think i can start my physio again. so. tonight it is!

this morning was gorgeous with the fog and the sunrise. can't get over how early it is dark now though. who's idiotic idea was this time change anyways!? i should move to sasketchewan. i really really abhor this time change. just slightly less than the spring time change.
gave the dogs each a piece of the antlers. silly tango keeps poking himself in the eye with his....there's no teaching him i guess. dumbdumb

hoping for good news from the lady that got young chickens from me...all pullets...just a few weeks ago. she mixed birds from 3 farms (year olds from 2 other places that free ranged) and didn't quarantine and now all the youngsters have coccidiosis along with the runny poop and smell and listlessness and hunchy, no wheezing, no sneezing, no bubbly eyes, she already lost 1 youngster and there were 3 others looking awful.....sigh. one of the older birds from another farm died the day after moving, and i suspect that's where it came from-those birds had been free ranging all summer...so they are on amprolium...she'd taken them off medicated feed because it saves 1.50/bag....sigh and didn't have any quarantine areas before putting birds together. feels awful. i hope the rest pull through okay.

All my birds got treated for mites yesterday, one of the boys had them again (grrr) and i found a nest of mice under a nesting box (dual purpose box? chickens AND mice?) and destroyed it, got some mouse traps set up....argh! and have plans to go to town with the wire along the soffit and fascia of the barn in the VERY near future to get the starlings and sparrows that decided not to migrate out. argh! i'm also going to make a door for the top of the stairs that they can't get through, frame and wire. then have to get the turkey pen wire up...rest is done, doors are up, posts.....

lots of fun stuff to do!

Hmm so mites. I just returned from the coop where I doused everyone AGAIN with poultry dust. I've dealt with mites before but have never found them so hard to get rid of!!! Thinking it's these darned Cochin's and their overly fuzzy butts. Those are the only ones I'm actually finding mites on but everyone and everything gets treated each time. And wouldn't you know I just hauled the shop vac out to the coop yesterday to deal with the dust. Guess that needs scheduled for a third time this fall!

Hope you hear good news from the lady you sold chickens to!

Looks like Trump may get Florida. I am worried. I have been hearing that a lot of regular people were voting Trump. I heard this from friends who have to work in the states. This could be bad, markets could go into the dumpster. I am not a fan of Hillary but she is just slimy, not slimy and nuts like the other one. Like you said, eeeeeeeek!
