Christmas gardening

Post by Skinny rooster » Wed Dec 30, 2015 2:44 pm

Since my car kicked the bucket Christmas eve, my plans were pretty much cancelled. Christmas Day was so beautiful I had the girls out and spent the day gardening, then again boxing day. A lot of grass and weeds had taken hold with the warm fall so I was turning it over to be ready for next spring. To my surprise, my spinach was still growing and the taste was out of this world, so there I was, Christmas day eating fresh spinach while working in the garden. Lol, not the Christmas I had been planning, such a contrast to today with nearly two feet of snow here, I think my gardening is finished. Well maybe snow peas and iceberg lettuce lol!

HAHAHA I planted a bunch of blueberry and cranberry plants on the 22nd. LOL I think there is spinach coming up in what was a garden before we moved here, some sort of leafy green anyways. That reminds me I have a handful more plants that need to go in the ground before it freezes!

So sorry to hear about your car, why oh why do these things always happen at the most inopportune times? Good you made the best of it though and still enjoyed Christmas, spinach still not frozen, wow who would have thought.

A much better Christmas than if your car would have died on the way home Christmas day! Sometimes things work out for the best.
