Al,

We talked about the cylinder thingy before (the V4/V8 switching)

I really gotta dig into it. My 1500 has it too and yes this new 1500 one does too. The Denali 2500 doesn't have it, think because it's a diesel instead of gas engine?

I gotta look into that .. thanks for the reminder

What I'd like to know is, WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THE HUGE WHEELS on new trucks? What was wrong with 15 and 16 inch? What the heck is with the 20 inch (or larger) monstrosities? Not only do you have to sell your organs to replace them, but they add unnecessary weight and drag and are unwieldy to change. Unless it's a mud toy, there is no practical reason for it that I can see.

Windwalkingwolf, I am amazed by your insight into many areas (that I think of as guy territory) and the common sense that you carry (the least common of the senses). You are right to state the obvious and ridiculous world of wheels on trucks (and cars) and the replacement cost. Its all fashion; they look nice, but in reality they don't work. I think of a comparison test by Sport Compact Car magazine (now defunct) of a Mini Cooper with stock 16" wheels vs the optional 20" with low profile tires. The 16's performed better on acceleration, braking, and slalom times vs the low profile option.

The big wheels are very important, they are there to look cool and that's the most important job nowadays! Hahaha. It's like at work, the latest craze is all the engineers buy these big honking trucks and then drive them down the street where they live, neeeever to put even a cardboard box in the back or go outside of the suburbs with it.

AWWW, thank you BR. I've been invading 'guy' territory all my life, just because my mother said I can't. "Girls can't (or shouldn't)" are two words you should never say to me if you don't want me to try something :D My first car was a 1976 Pontiac Acadian I bought off my mother after it overheated and she hosed it off thinking it was on fire. I changed the engine and the leaky master cylinder and never looked back lol. I don't know about the common sense part...why would anyone with common sense have so many chickens??!!

Should be called "Dorks". Or maybe the owners got "donk"ed on the head at birth. What a waste of a good Caprice. Al, if you change your hubs to 5 bolt, wheels will be MUCH easier to find :) Why are you looking for aluminum? I've never found an aluminum rim that didn't end up leaky, but maybe that's just me.

I know a guy like that. He bought a cargo trailer so he wouldn't have to put tools, groceries, etc. in the bed of the truck. Nothing is allowed back there, it might get a scuff or something.
