Hey not nice, I drive a Ford because I'm poor, lol. People ask me why I keep driving focuses and I tell them it's because the Ford focus is the poor man's Corolla!

Some good ones there! I LOLed. I drive a Ford because like Skinny Rooster, I'm poor. And cheap. They're easy for me to fix myself, and parts are a dime a dozen because the junk yards are full of them :D I have a VW New Beetle that's not on the road because it needs a tiny $400 sensor. I. Don't. Think. So.

I bet you can get the sensor for less than half the price online in the states. pelican parts is good for european cars. www.pelicanparts.com

www.rockauto.com is great as well. Exhaust for my 2007 vw rabbit was $800 at dealer and any parts place in Canada, got it at Rockauto $350 USD with exchange and shipping was still near $400 CDN

My brother buys it all at rockauto for our family parts: 2002Saturn suv, 2003 toyota Matrix, 2004 subaru outback, etc.

97 GMC Suburban here... 280000 miles which puts it a little over 450 000kms. they just dont build them like they used to! ya sure I might get 14 miles per gallon but im hauling 8 passangers and a decent load at the same time. just had an e test and its burning fuel extremely clean!

which part does your car need WWW? cant find it in a junk yard? i had to replace my ignition switch... $340 new plus another $50 for the lock cylinder and key... $30 at the local pick a part junk yard, which also included an extra key, lock cylinder and a key fob to unlock the doors that worked! man I was in heaven in that junk yard.

:-)

ford trucks , bah. We had a 1972 Ford and drove it around the farm until the mid 1990's, we have a 1992 Ford F150 with 325,000 kms and it died last year (last decade as a farm vehicle)
We now have a 2003 F150 with 225,000km's on it; 10,000 on its second engine that just started sputtering. Piece of f'ing junk.

My plan is to go to the desert states find a mid 80's F150 standard tranny 4x4 with a 300ci straight 6 and bring it back here. Mechanically simple, reliable, no computers.

LOVE the 300 6 cyl, I had a Merc Capri with the car version of the straight 6...motor still purring like a kitten when I finally parked it, had over 500 k on it. Maintenance was.... irregular shall we say, but she never let me down. Only parked it because the seats were falling through the floor. Best motor ever. Al, I believe the part I need is the rear oxygen sensor...sounds right, but it's been so long since I ran the codes I'm not sure. There's a junk yard an hour away from me called Kenny U-Pull. Place is fabulous, I could spend all day there ( and have done so lol) scavenging parts and leave only $75 poorer...last time I was there there was only one Bug with what I needed and it was seized in, no joy.
BR, I will definitely check out rock auto! I often use prime choice auto when I need something new, they're dirt cheap...but selection of parts is very limited.

We have had Fords. 150's & 250's. The 250 Couldn't tow itself up the 'mountain' in Grimsby, never mind a trailer with a piece of equipment on it. Just a pathetic truck all around. Suspension was so tight every little dent in the road felt like a serious pot hole to the centre of the earth. When it comes to work trucks being able to tow, Fords have never cut it for us. They spent more time in the shop, which as a business is costly with downtime.

Since we have switched to 1500's & 2500's from GMC we are much happier.

Picked up our new work truck yesterday. The 2004 Avalanche finally cracked it's frame, so no more towing for that girl. She's living the easy life now. The new Silverado True North Ed. Josh isn't complaining about his new work truck. These GM 1500's tow better than a 250 Ford.

The Platnium F150 is a nice truck, and yes the new trucks look nice. Lou's son drives one and it sure is sharp looking.

And then there are Ram's.....
