Segregating as we speak, DH is moving Chunky this morning in to "show cage" and I am separating the girls in the afternoon in to a crate, so they are ready for their travel quarters in the morning.
Looks like we are going to have perfect traveling temperature.
Just a heads up, they are WAY bigger then when you chose them. ;)

it's going to be 19C here tomorrow....and 21 on hallowe'en! not sure winter is quite here yet....LOL. (i'm sure it will come!)
Have to admit the snow looks nice and clean and white. much nicer than MUD!
My driveway looks a bit like woodbine after the horses decided to go down it last night in the mud....it will be dragged this weekend before it freezes that way!

At dominion link. She got a nasty bump, came back well though, and I agree would definitely have done better if not bumped.

They are going in the same coop as Lucky when we first got him. Hope he fits through the door!

Nice Dean/Chantelle , that filly shifts gears like a thoroughbred. Long wait till spring . I'd nickname her "BabyBonus " .With the new one comin she just might buy the diapers next year . Lol Luck :cowboy:

Thanks Ross :) Snowflake has been one of my personal favourites since she was a foal. We've known since early on that she's a reactive filly- not to be pushed if she's not ready. Everyone involved with her so far has been very good about being patient with her as she learns. Once she got to training at the track it became apparent, quickly, that she has a lot of natural talent. Her last breeze with company at the track, the staff decided to play a bit of a trick and had her up against a 3 yr old. The older horse broke well out in front of Snowflake, but she made up the ground and smoked past him! I'm glad Chantelle doesn't push young horses and in this case, if all goes well, we have a real good filly to enjoy at the track for quite a few years now. It costs a lot more to not race 2 yr olds for most, or all, of their first race season, but it also prevents a lot of injuries and stress. Would rather eat the costs up front and have a horse that enjoys a long, healthy career than one that is broken down from being pushed too hard, too early.

Agree totally man . Sounds like she's not only built to do the job but in my opinion the heart & mind to want to do also is most important . Hockey man "Howie Meeker " used to say , have to have talent but big heart/drive gets her done . Luck

Good evening!! Yah..... Kathy was NOT impressed with her gang..... and got a lengthy message telling me all about it. She usually doesn't use explicit language as I tend to always do.... but believe me, this text left nothing to the imagination of how she was feeling, afterwards. And much afterwards, lol.

Today I cleaned the porch. I put some potted trees down into the porch well.... so they will get the cold, but no wind and snow. They usually survive down there. When I opened the basement door from there, I could smell dead. Wth? Well, seems I pulled a deer hide out of the freezer a few days ago... like last weekend, when I was cleaning the freezer out more..... and was intending on putting the hide into the shed freezer. Oops. Its chucked to the bush now. Its been there over a year. Doubtful Dave would have gotten around to tanning it anyhow.

Threw away the potted petunia's and mothers day plant. Also threw away a mum. The fall ones you buy never make it thru the winter. I have plenty of fall/winter ones blooming in the ground now anyhow.

Tomorrow in the summer weather, will be pulling the stakes from the pepper plants, and taking them out. They will be mushy. Had the first hard frost 2 mornings ago. They had a great run!! Still have beets to eat.... and need to pull some bean plants, and probably the row of mexican sunflowers. The bees sure loved them. They got so tall. I will plant them on the other side of the fence between the houses next year.

I started washing windows in the porch, until I had to go on the bus. Realized that I was damned sore from doing that, so didn't continue when I got home.

Have a great weekend!
