Violins please, sad violins, not sad like in a romantic movie where one of the couple dies because that's too dramatic but like the ones in a bugs bunny cartoon. Today I just bought my last bag of chicken feed, everyone will be gone by the end of the week. Feels weird but not that bad because I actually sold off all my older stock in spring, I told people not to feel sorry for me because I had hatched over 80 chicks and little chicks quickly become big chicks that seem to eat and
none stop lol. I am pretty happy about one of the rabbits this week, she is at least 8 and could be 10, I found her a really good home to finish out her days so that makes me happy.

It's nice not to have to do chores and my work hours often go late into the evening, so I didn't have time for the girls, but.. but... holy cow do I ever feel like I have made a huge mistake with this decision! Especially my Cochin bantams, nearly ten years of breeding, I feel like I sold a little piece of me lol.

You recently bird less people are brave. I'd be lost without my nightly head counting ritual, or grumping at the ducks about the mess they made, or laughing at the turkey trying to hump a boot. Very lost.
