Good Morning! <=2017
Good Morning!
Nice look feed there Al.
I would like to try your gluten free batter recipe.
We keep silver bass we catch on Lake Erie all the time, great fish.
I have actually cooked several sheephead (around 5 to 7 pound fish) and fried them in batter as well. They are actually pretty good as well.

Good Morning!
Yeah, the Main Street in Picton is a mess. They had opened it over the summer but closed it again in September. Will be done buy mid Nov.
The fall colours here are amazing right now.
I always wondered about that place driving by it OC! Hope you've had a nice time.

Good Morning!
Morning all! Glad i'm not headed to picton...there's enough construction close to where i work as is-i think i've had my fill of bumpy lumpy half gravel roads and super sized orange pylons everywhere. Those things actually reflect their orange colour in my windshield in the dark...LOL
Rainy day here. love that it's cooler though!
Looks like i need to break out the bale spear tonight and move some hay for the horses. they were digging through the bale holder this morning with the expression that there was nothing good left in the quarter bale left in there...picky horses. Farrier coming tomorrow for trimming, i think they have finally stopped growing foot as fast. hopefully! certainly ted hasn't cracked and split *YET* (now that i say that he probably will today.....LOL)
Busy weekend planned doing yard stuff. cleaning up for winter, lawn chairs to the basement, stuff like that. Right now they're in the barn and i would like to put my truck and the car in there sometime....have to get off my butt and go and pick up our puckboard too..life got in the way the last few weeks so it just didn't work out-it's up near st. marys, so a bit of a drive for us. but then we can finish off around the wonderful pool!
need to also get a mat for around the pool. hopefully our stairs come in soon, tired of using a step ladder to get in and out. looking forward to stairs. need to touch base with the company again, they were hoping to ship them out today.....
also some things to do around the house. lockdown happened day before yesterday-expected late today or early tomorrow to start seeing some pips and chicks....fingers crossed. only 1 pip so far, and not on the svart hona....YET.
looks like flu shot clinic today...guess i should wander over. gads, i don't want to walk that far. oh well. i need to get the flu shot if i'm going to be in the hospital this winter! i sure don't need to get the flu and delay surgery. and need to finish moving birds this weekend. if i can work the woodstock and st marys run into sunday maybe i'll come down to the woodstock sale. hm.......
11 boys to process this weekend, get them out before winter. and a whole load of girls are off to their new homes, about 25 of them.....that will empty one coop out completely. then a few more boys to grow up and process and then it's done for the winter.
hoping to get something done on the outside turkey pens this weekend too. posts are in. wire is there, but....well. lots to do.
and it's only thursday and i'm already thinking about the weekend.
hope everyone has a good thursday!

Good Morning!
Took the day off today so I could take my meat turkeys in to the processor. It will never get easier to say bye to the the birds, but I am thankful for the meat they put in the freezer. It is downright chilly here so we finally got the woodstove going. I should have several cats melted on the floor in front of it in a few minutes. Tomorrow's high is supposed to be 5! And I have a tree planting to go to...brrr! Having a pretty lazy day at home today, which suits me just fine. It's a rare day when we can just relax and do the bare minimum. I've spent much of it just watching the birds  Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning!
Well, today is the second day, and one night of rain. Only 1/2 inch in the gauge tho. It was a busy one. Got home from the bus, and did up chores. Then thought I had everything ready to go to the yard to write my BZ licence. Course, I got to Ancaster Fair, before I realized that nagging going on in my head told me I forgot my Ministry sent paper. Good GAWD.
So, I backed into one of their driveways and headed home. Got a hold of Gary and asked if he would bring it to the church down the road from us. That way I didn't have to drive down our bumpy long lane. I texted him before I left Ancaster, and STILL had to wait for him. I finally got madder and asked him if he was friggen lost. He finally came. I told him right where it would be.... but I knew it would be a challenge to find the damn thing.
I had 3 pages, both sides. And got one wrong!! I guess I got cocky and thought it was a breeze... and didn't fully properly read the last question on the air brakes. It said something about a licenced person who is certified to work on air brakes can...... well, I picked the first answer, which was all commercial vehicles.... I guess I read Mechanic. So stupid a mistake. Any person can be certified to work on air brake slack adjusters.....but you have to be a Certified air brake Diesel mechanic to work on ALL commercial vehicles. Da.
Got home, had lunch... ran out to do chores, and did bus... and got home just abit ago... and getting ready to go to see Rick and Colleen for a night out!! Sounds like fun. Hope I can stay awake... was up around 12:30am... and didn't really fall back asleep since. I think I did about 5:15am... but was up at 5:45am. ANNOYING.
Going to pick up two bags of turkey starter for the guinea's and 2 turkey poults. They are going thru feed like crazy now!! No wonder, I have more than a few of them!!!!!!!!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Good Morning!
wow what a cooler grey rainy day!
Congrats on the pass BVF! that should make driving the bus and grain truck a little easier LOL. Waiting on the hubby to get home......farrier has been and gone, horses are trimmed, found a huge chunk of roofing steel in the field, and it's not ours...don't know where it was from, but it was terribly windy last night, might have blown over from the neighbours junk pile.
my farrier is also a taxidermist, and she wants my red slate tom's cape when (if) we ever put him in the freezer LOL. she just loves his colour and wants to do one up for the taxidermy competition. Someone did up a chicken last year, so i think secretly she wants to one up them. ;-P i have no plans for freezer camping him until i get LOTS of babies.
Incubator is cheeping away....fuzzybutts hatching! the one lonely svart hona egg was cheeping the last time i checked, but not hatched yet. i think the other chicks will be 4 times it's size!!!!
I think my lab is going mental. he is barking off and on for absolutely zero reason. been doing it all day. it's like he's hearing things. sigh. he is OLD....
argosgirl, he looks amazing! and like he's enjoying being outside.
i can't wait to get my turkey pens finished so i can let the ones i kept back outside again.....maybe this weekend. maybe.
hope everyone has a wonderful evening. stay warm, and dry!
