Not really specific. I'm pretty sure the vets have been given heads up. I have to go into Home Hardware which has a feed store and all that stuff and I'm going to ask if they know anything.Colleen Kinzie wrote:QR_BBPOST I didn't read the whole article. Just on my way to work

Good Morning!
The one lonely svart hona is still in the incubator. The lady talked with the guy she got the eggs from and he's going to ship replacements for the 9 non-fertilized ones! yay! the 2 blood rings were fertilized, but didn't develop-not surprising for shipped eggs. But the rest weren't even fertilized, could even see the little spot on the yolk still, tiny and white and no bullseye or any failed development. Guess i should tell her that if this one is a boy that maybe you and her could put your birds together and get something established off them @JimW!
Skirting is up on the pool-just a few trim boards to make it look finished to go-those won't take long at all to do. The rails are measured for the cover that we need to install-that will happen tonight. Need to top up the pool too, so nice to not be zapping the cats and dogs in the house LOL.
Got the peppermint dried and stored. Going to make up some tea mixes i think.
Gorgeous sunrise again this morning! Starting to feel like fall, and like deer season LOL. Had a doe come up to my stand on saturday, just watched her for about 45 minutes. Maybe will get out again this weekend....
Had to chase 12 cockerels out of the barn rafters last night-got out the long apple picking pole LOL. chased them all down the rafters and finally they all went out into the grow out coop-now that the mean cockerels were processed last weekend. Went to check on them before bed and couldn't find any of them on the roosts-they were all up in the rafters of the coop! strange birds.
hope everyone has a good day! don't forget to enter your photos for the photo contest for november!!!!

Good Morning!
yeah...i think they knew that monday was processing day LOL.
well, they're in the coop now, and it's only 7 feet up, so i can get them (insert evil laughter here). They'll be processed this weekend probably, and then we'll have lots of chicken for the winter.

Good Morning!
Today is an absolutely gorgeous day!!!!!!!!!! I got my garlic in. I should be out there right now planting my tulips and the daffy bulbs I got from Costco eons ago! I did plant some daffy's on Fluffy's grave when I buried her.
Then Melissa and I went shopping... well, to Lee Valley to get a gift card for Dave. He will be 27 on the 14th. How did my two youngest kids get so old??????????? Anyhow, he likes tinkering in the woodshop, and can buy himself some fine tool/gadget to help him with that. Melissa got him one too... so he has $90 to spend in there! Good thing... stuff can be pricey in there.
I just went out and did the bird chores. Will have to close up doors later, when it gets dark tho. Not getting many eggs, which is good, cause I ivomec'd everyone first of the month or so... will continue to throw away for a few more days. I've been using guinea eggs.. although those are tapering off too. I have LOTS of young guinea's, lol. I wish I could have let out the parents this past summer, after I collected eggs, but the manure/water lagoon now, is still full... and they seem to want to fly in it. Its covered in Duckweed... so it looks like a nice green lawn to them I suppose. I have lost lots of guinea's in there in the past. NEXT YEAR! I always like to keep birds in a year, because I use them for eggs/breeding. They make great pickled eggs.
Melissa is coming back tonight, so we can take more pictures. She wants more of him/her (her baby Mason). Here is a couple pictures she sent me. Everyone says that they look like twins... and after seeing these pictures, I agree, he looks more like her, than his dad.
I added one from a photo shoot on the weekend, lol. I'm holding him, behind him. It was too sunny.
Well.... bus time soon. Going out to enjoy the sun some more. Probaby babysitting tomorrow, as I did yesterday. Sawyer has a cold... and is coughing lots and gagging... so shes not sending him to school. Hes done pretty good this time so far... going to school a month, and first cold!!!!!!!!
Oh.. bought a new printer two days ago... my other one, HP 1050 wouldn't print black ink, after I put 2 new cartridges in. AFTER the starter ones that came with it. It prints the black AND colour on the test/alignment page... but will NOT print a quickbooks invoice in black, or any other colour. I went online and looked for tips... and tried a couple... but it still won't print. It goes thru the motions, sounds like its doing the job, but when the page comes out, its blank. Any ideas here??
I got a laser printer, a brother, that does ONLY black. toner for that, to replace is $100. But I think I paid $80 for the new ones in the damn HP. I haven't installed it yet... to try, but I did get it out of the box, and put together, lol. It better work.

Good Morning!
Morning y'all
Phew, it sure did get warm yesterday!! Power went out last night with the storm. But boy did it cool back down nicely. I was in class #2 of citizens police college last night. I really wish people would lay off the perfumes and cologne. Had to take antihistamine and Advil on the way home. I feel seriously hung over today with a massive headache and my sinuses are burning. Will be another day with Advil to cope and peppermint tea to settle the gut. Blah.
This morning I'm finally getting to coop clean outs. Hopefully some garden stuff too. I can take the ugly chicken wire fencing down and get that put away. Load up the truck with items going to the auction and maybe get the wood split from the weekend moved to under the deck. I also have payables and payroll to get done today and keep plugging away at month ends. HST end of this month. Tuesday and Wednesday I was on the road doing cold calls. Got some machines that need placement for snow removal this year. We have wrangled in our distance range for snow removal. We aren't going to do the GO in Burlington or the malls in Burlington this year. It's so far for the crew in the snow to get to. Safely. Everyone is around the Hamilton Grimsby area. So I got us some serious leads and Lou is heading into a few big steel companies and a massive winery place today and tomorrow. Fingers crossed!!
A bunch of items will be going to the auction tomorrow. Waterers, feeders, first cut hay, oyster shell. Think I can put oyster shell in the compost? @goatgal35 is coming by this morning to get the feed I have. Of course I have a load. Glad she can use it.
Josh went to @Bayvistafarm yesterday to pick up some Norwex items that got shipped to her. He came home with a garden! Peppers, tomatoes, beets, garlic, squash. Wow! And some cook books, and beekeeping magazines! Amazing!! Thanks again Shirley!! I think Josh needs to come by tonight and pick up some ... Hahahah.
Well, better get at it. Busy busy and another long day ahead of me.

Good Morning!
Good morning everyone! got to work FINALLY through all the construction and traffic back ups and that'll teach me to be 15 minutes later than usual.....and we had a fire alarm (thankfully just an alarm) but the ventilation is so high in the hospital, and so low in the building i am in that it took 2 people to get the door open to get out! LOL. thankfully a drill or the pile of us would not have made it out of the building in time! they're looking into the air pressure differential.
did the rails on the pool for the cover. going to install that to keep 1) the water in, 2) the cat (that keeps falling asleep on the edge and rolling over) out....almost there....should get it all done tonight i hope. Maybe.
Don't forget your photos for the photo contest! only a couple more days to go for submissions!
BVF if your printer will print the test page and not from the computer try reinstalling it.....if it plugs into a usb then unplug and leave for 10 minutes then replug it in. If it's got the cable with the pins in it you will need to go to your settings and device manager and reinstall the driver. sound like it lost it's mind.....
hope everyone has a great day.

Good Morning!
Good Morning,
We seem to be inside a rain cloud moving very fast and somewhat threatening, I guess it's inside and catch up day today.
Furnace guy coming in this morning, so I guess winter is coming for sure now, we have side by side oil and wood furnace plugged in to the same ducts, had it installed in the eighties when the government was kind enough to contribute to the purchase and installation, to get us of whatever the bad energy source of the day was at that time.
Can't imagine life without it, although I am pretty sure it wouldn't pass any new standards now, just serves as a source of terror to anybody coming to clean, one of the young technicians couple years ago after coming in to the basement, came out to share with his work mate....."my god there is two of them!!!!" :)
OK, time to get to some inside work, really much prefer outside work anytime.
Have a safe one!
