Retiring The Coops

Thanks FRF and everyone for the understanding and compassion. Sheesh, you all are so busy, I'm not sure how everyone does it.

Where my ducks and chickens went is a 10 min drive, so I've been given a free pass to visit the quackers and get my fix anytime I like. She is now MY egg supplier (I met her at the feed delivery pick up spot and we've gotten along and she's very knowledgable).

I am not sure I will ever have chickens again, but definitely ducks. In my spare time (haha) over the next few years I will be designing and eventually building the most excellent of duck coops, pen and pond. But that has to come after I decide if I'm staying here or not.
I'm considering a move east in the next few years so a lot to figure out. (Kingston, Brockville way).

So much on my plate ... One thing at a time.

I don't want to say too much but be VERY careful if you decide on Brockville, although you do have family here? We have found it very bigoted and rather unpleasant. (we live outside and that's ok).

Kingston: there's lots of little villages along highway 2 near Kingston. I don't know property prices. I told Carla many time that if we don't buy the farm then we'll buy a place in Prince Edward County (around Picton and east of Belleville), or we'd at least retire there. They have "lake moderated" weather, about a month longer "frost free" than we have in Ottawa and should be similiar as its now a "wine" region.
Unfortunately lots of Coyotes there.
Bad news is that its become a "trendy" place and Toronto refugees are buying places and jacking up property values. Also lots of traffic in the summer "season". I'd buy on the Napanee side, just across the ferry from the county.

I lived 6 years in Harrowsmith and love the area. Sharbot lake, upper Beverley lake, Westport, delta, Toledo. Those areas. I just say Kingston or Brockville so the average person knows the General vacinity.

And KB you should see some of the folks in Dunnville.

Besides, bigots don't scare me, my dad is one! I know all the right buttons to push. I've had lots of practice
