Photo not the greatest, but...

These guys I hatched out 4 weeks ago from eggs I got from Bart Nagel at Bulbs of Fire. Three BC Marans chicks to add some more diversity to my BC Marans group and 4 Belgium Cuckoo Malines.

I have never had the Malines chickens and just got a few hatching eggs to hatch and hopefully get a hen or two, but really loving the little guys. The cuckoo patterning is very distinctive, I have 2 dark ones and 2 light ones, I believe the lighter pattern chicks should be males and the darker ones females. I think I might just have to try and breed a few of them next year.

If Baron is reading this if I keep a few of the Malines to breed that will give me 8 breeds of chickens I am working with for next year (BC Marans, Bielefelder, Cream Legbar, Mottle Houdans, Ayam cemani, Svart hona, Cuckoo Malines and Serama bantams), In case you are still keeping track. lol

Great birds Jim! I lost our Malines rooster to a predator this spring but kept his offspring out out of Wheaten Ameraucana.
We loved him, and love his offspring. They are all gentle giants. You will enjoy this breed.

Iv raised malines before for a couple years from Bart and we enjoyed them ! Very large and docile birds !
Bart is great to deal with! His marans fill in to great dual purpose birds aswell we just slaughtered some 3 yr old hens this past spring and they were nice plump birds probably 6-7lbs dressed

Yes I have dealt with Bart a few times I already have a couple marans and some Bielefelders from him.

Cuckoo is similar to the barred rocks and the roosters are definitely lighter than the barred hens so it will probably work for your breed as well.

I think it's just natural for a husband to be in trouble with the wife at least four or five times a week so better to be in hot water over chickens than something more serious, lol.
