Good Morning!

Post by Home Grown Poultry » Sun Sep 11, 2016 10:44 am

well I really enjoy a good storm. I was looking forward to some incredible footage from the Dominator, he did post some but not much really. despite all that, im glad there was no major damage or any injuries! there was 17 tornado warnings yesterday afternoon/evening, I was worried about you all. heck the only reason I know where some of these places are is from PTO members.

Look up Dr Reed Timmer and the Dominator tornado footage... man hes got some incredibly crazy videos from inside massive twisters. scary cool stuff!

Good Morning!

Good morning! Sitting here in the cold house!! Novelty. Nice, lol. For abit. I've the windows open, and the cool north breeze is blowing out the warm air.

Yesterday WAS a blast. Thanks to Colleen... for making me drive a total of 7 hours yesterday. We put on 425 kms, lol. It started with me picking her up, and of course, with all the weather warnings.... I was apprehensive about driving on the 401 in a torrential. OF COURSE IT HAPPENED, and when I hydro planned sideways with cars zooming past me, can't see ahead of me, CANNOT SEE BESIDE ME to get over to get off that damned highway... well we did make it off to Wellington... and things kind of went downhill after that, lol. Colleen even crawled out of the window, as I was driving 110km after one rain fall (it was intermittent) and tried to 'fix' my windshield wiper for crying out loud. While I was screaming at her, of course.

When we discovered that we were minutes from Berryhill at one point, we decided to go there before I got the birds. Our original plan was to take the 401 all the way there, and take 3 home, go to Berryhill.. and go home. Glad we did it before the birds.

Taking a left out of there, instead of a right, screwed things up from there. We did make it to Kathy's, and a wonderful breakfast of bacon and scrambled eggs and toasted bun were ready for us!! Yummy, and thanks again!

We yucked it up at the table.... telling Martin and Kathy about some of colleens screw ups (ha ha), and I even got Colleen brushed up on using MORE swear words, and possibly new ones too. lol.

Colleen got the tour..... and the pool is awesome!! Even I can't wait to try it out!!

The guinea's were awesome!! Fiesty little buggers... wild from the get go, like guinea's are. Got them loaded, and listened to one whiner child all the way home. Colleen was so concerned about it, she got out of the vehicle at a busy intersection to peer in the back window, lol. Me yelling at her to get off the damn road, and back inside.

We took #3 way far south than we should have....with the posse calling her to see where the hell she was. We told him we were on #3 heading towards Fort Erie... which we were, lol. I wanted to take #4 from Delhi... to cut out the elbow we would have taken to 24 had we stayed on #3.... and we did... but screwed up somewhere along the way, and ended up South of where #4 actually came out to hwy 24. Where we went wrong is anyones guess. We started out on #4... but then didn't stay on it. How I do not know. Neither does Colleen.... and she was the road map person, lol.

Ok..... her version will be different than mine... if she finds the energy to tell it. lmao. We both had fun, and she even came to my house with her puppy Lacy, to help me tape up 5 of the keets legs. Two were completely splayed completely sideways, but after I got done with them all... they were all walking normally. Those 5 are in their own separate rabbit cage.

All the others are in a big brooder box, which they will outgrow in about 10 minutes, with 3 older guinea's that those coronation sussex hens hatched out for me. I'm glad to report they are behaving and I am sure, making sure the younger birds eat and drink by example.

Anyone one need two beautiful turkey poults? I have 2 I do NOT want. Gave WLLady 3 turkey eggs and 2 hatched.

Baby shower today for Melissa just up the road at the church. Its her birthday too! Making a hot buffalo chicken dip to go with the chips I bought. Chicken is cooking away right now. Want to have it made and finished cooking in the oven for taking it up at the right time!

Should be a good time.

Good evening. Pooched here. Pool is up and works and has current and is filled and is flippin cold!! We installed coping today-so needed to be in and out and i swear my feet were blue. I am still cold! Watching a movie under 3 blankets....lol.
It does have a heater so we have it set to 70. Since it was at 65!! Got water trucked in with massive fire hose. Filled in 20 or so minutes!! That was amazing. So havent technically been swimming yet but was in about 2 hours finishing coping. No wonder i got cold!!

Everyone is loving this cooler weather!! Horses were playing with the dogs frisbee today lol. Cleaning the stall was a giant pita. Turn around and theres molly in my face....teds trying to grab the shovel handle and molly wants all the manure going out to be inspected-every piece. I finally gave up. One spreader load out on the field....another loaded and ready to go.

Another 10 chicks to the brooder. Squashes picked and rest of the hot peppers and green peppers picked. Some huge ones!! Going to make stuffed peppers again. Sunflower seeds are ready to harvest too. And picked the indian corn. Looking awesome.
