The WELL ran dry....good thing I have a pool!

Post by Poultryprincess » Fri Sep 09, 2016 12:39 am

After a Hot, muggy day in Toronto, my stupid well ran dry!
"Of Course" it would be during the Heat wave - was Only 39 today.
Yesterday is was 42 with humidex, so it could have been worse.

Hubby came home from work, jumped in the shower & all was well.
Well ran dry Before the dinner dishes were washed.
Will be a busy day draining water from another well into the house well.
Might drain the cistern too, because there might not be alot of water around here.
Can always "BUY" some, but hubby might have a heart attack & that's wouldn't be fun.
YEP thank goodness for our above ground pool

I always worry about ending up somewhere with water troubles. Here I am lucky, we have a deep well that is never affected by weather, in fact I am surrounded by springs that constantly shoot cold spring water out of the ground no matter how dry things get. Plus it tastes good, I took this for granted until I left home and moved to the city with it's stale water that tastes like someone used it to do laundry, lol.

Water place is super busy. Said they would squeeze us in. ( we had them fill up our new above ground pool 2 months ago )
The water is brownish & smells like a river or lake. Have to go out tomorrow & buy some 10 litre jugs of water for my birds.
Hubby will put in a filter system & cross fingers it will help the smell / look.
NO complaints though, nice to have water for a flush....but not so sure how we will smell after a shower - LOL

That's just terrible Poultry Princess, I really feel for you and family, going without good water is beyond inconvenient. Hope your well kicks back in soon!

Oh dear, that sucks! Don't empty the pool too much, I did that once, meaning to take it apart and put it away the next day, and that night a wind came up and turned it into an 18 foot kite, wrecked the steel. Hopefully your well gets back to normal soon, brown water is never fun, ugh.
