Re: Seed Catalog
good haul of corn there Al.
I have never done the 3 Sisters garden before, but it is on our list of plans for this year... Stowell's Evergreen sweet corn or Wade's Giant Indian corn plus a purple pole bean and Marina di Chioggia winter squash.

No actual Prince Edward County was hit very hard with drought this summer. Our saving grace was no till and that we are on very heavy clay. We are selling 1/2 of our beef heard and having to buy a bunch of hay.

THATS AWESOME! How long are those cobs? I'm really sorry to hear that you have to sell some of your cattle due to the drought, that really sucks. I was hoping it wouldn't come to that.WaupoosCowgirl wrote:QR_BBPOST Here is a crop tour of our four popcorn varieties for this harvest season.
we didnt have much luck with the popcorn, shawman blue I think I planted? but we do have a few plants doing well, the cobs are filling in right now. Peaches and Creme was delicious! Purple early maize is over 12' tall, some have fallen over a few times but didnt die? LOL still waiting for them to be done. they almost seem confused with some plants having tassels coming out of where the cobs are forming. maybe some way to guarantee fertilization? I dont know but it is an ancient variety. Im keeping my fingers crossed the purple does well.
the 3 sisters plot did quite well I believe, I just wish it was much much bigger haha.
