Good Morning! <=2017
Good Morning!
Looking good ross, you were upside down in the photo, until I clicked on it, worried you fell out of the tree stand and were hanging in the tree. lol
No luck even seeing the chicken, in round 2. I will check again at dusk. The chicken has never been out of its pen before, so must be off enjoying freedom.

Good Morning!
Looks like i will have to buy a crank. Tried pulling the bow tonight. Large mistake....got the rope aid on with some acrobatics. Pulled about 4 inches had to stop and rebalance...then another 4 inches and something shifted in my back and now-3 hours later-both my legs and my back are still angry. So i never got it pulled. I cant hold the front up either...sigh. too much weight pulling on my back so i either need a hiatus from hunting or a new spine or a shooting rest plus a crank cocking aid. Hate to say but i dont see how i will get out this fall. So friggin frustrating and sore. Feel like the biggest wuss ever not being able to pull a crossbow. Yeah ross i have the pheonix excalibur. Love it to bits.
Did get my acorn squash bleached and the hubbard squash bleached...both into winter storage. Did chores and now its bonfire time...
Beautifully cool tonight.

Good Morning!
Sure martin can cock it. Thats no problem. I cannot sit and hold the bow flat for more than 10 seconds either. I am more worried about missing the shot because i drop the front. Dont want to wound...i have to figure out a shooting rail if i am going. Never thought my back would be that bad....sigh. it literally feels like its splitting apart in my lower back trying to hold the bow up. Gah!!! Last year wasnt easy....but wasnt this bad either. Altho my spine is turned 70 degrees so i think its allowed to be angry really...
What a beautiful morning. Last night we had a little fire...sat out wrapped up in my one fuzzy blanket in my lawn chair watching stars and satellites and the odd shooting star. Just gorgeous.
My one pullet with the blood feather issues has cleaned herself up and was looking great yesterday so i will give her some company today. She will be happier with a friend or two in with her.. so glad she is okay.
Well need to see if i need to feed run....and get the bones moving. Lots of things i want to do. Picked the carrots...time to get them blanched and to the freezer...already got the squash bleached and stored...have a couple to eat soon (oh sigh lol). Still have baking beans to shell lots of em!! And the butternuts are almost ready too. Along with the cabbage. Need to check the sweet potatoes and see how theyre doing. The plants are all over the garden!!! Tomatoes are crazy still and the beans reflowered lol. So more beans coming.
Hope everyone has an awesome day!!! Looks like a great weekend!

Good Morning!
Morning all
Moved chicken ninja to Guelph yesterday. Her room is pretty nice. Took her bike so she can scoot around campus, and she has her car for grocery runs. So proud of her. Excited for her beginning this next life chapter.
I've been spending a lot of time just looking at chickens figuring out who I'm keeping and who's going.
Will be going to Fenelon falls sale next weekend, then Burls Creek and finally Mount Forest. Have about 60 - 80 birds to sell.
Starting laying out plans for winter pens for the groups I'm keeping. Realized only have about 6 weeks to get it done. Yikes!!
Beautiful day here. Going out to enjoy it.
Hope everyone has a good one.

Good Morning!
Beautiful morning today, kind of a late start to doing anything today, just enjoying the
A bunch of the family went to the cottage yesterday for dinner then went and watched my 11 year old daughter in the play Peter Pan, another show tonight.
We have a large elm tree just behind our house, now a dead large elm tree, waiting for a guy to come over and give a quote on cutting it down. It is the largest tree on our property so will be said to see if go.
I hatched the last few eggs for this year about 10 days ago, a got 4 NC Marans chicks and 4 Cuckoo Malines chicks.
First time having any malines the chick colours are very distinctive, I have 2 lighter and 2 darker grey, so should be 2 pullets and 2 cockerels. I really like the breeds I can sex from day 1.
No luck last night or first thing this morning seeing my escapee, but I just came in from outside and she was walking around outside her pen, so the chase was on....
She took off again into the brush again, so in I when shorts and flop flops again. Lol chased her out of the brush... she ran towards my other chicken pens.... we played ring around the rosie a couple times around the chicken pen and then I directed her and she walked into the coyote live trap, I tripped the door and I got her!!!!!
Back inside the house now cleaning off some more blood from the prickly ash. I really need to wear pants evwrytime I go out to the birds. Lol
Tree guy is here.
Have a good day.
