CNE Freak Show

Post by Maximus » Thu Aug 18, 2016 12:53 pm

Ok, I haven't been to the CNE since I was about 9. Too many people for me. However I love to hear about the food. These last few years it's gotten a little wonky.

Dijon cricket hot dogs. BUGS!!!

Pulled pork cinnamon buns
image.jpeg
Bacon wrapped hotdog with peanut butter and jam and captn crunch (WTF)
image.jpeg
I can say with all honesty NONE of these or the other items listed even tempt me. But I haven't even had a deep fried mars bar, or deep fried ice cream. None of this funky stuff is my thing.

Check out the rest of the new items for this year here: http://www.blogto.com/eat_drink/2016/08 ... e_in_2016/

This is a boomstick. 24" of meat (or meatlike substance) cheese sauce, chilli, red onions and pickled jalapenos (to help digestion).
Pick one up in Dallas the next time you see the Blue Jays beat the Rangers. A great deal at $25.

Deep fried ice cream, AKA baked Alaska, is quite tasty as I recall. It's been many many years, though.

Ya, it's weird. How gross can we be and still call it yum? Thing is, people will gobble it up and blow up social media over it.

I personally am scared of 'fair' food. But I'm a weeee bit picky about some stuff. And I'm with WWW. Hot dogs are not for human consumption. Wouldn't feed to any of my pets either

I have never yet managed to eat a hot dog, just the texture gets me. people have offered me all sorts of high quality stuff and I still can't choke down the first mouthful. I have got so picky about food I usually take lunches with me while travelling. That stuff just gives me the auto gags! When they were on about the "wonderful" stampede food I just didn't understand. Went to the hockey with some friends and we meet outside on the way at Wendys. Hubby and I had salads being the only thing we fancied eating. Our friends were giving us heck for not eating burgers and such. Just give up the diet for a day etc. They didn't understand we just didn't want the crap.
