OC...MJ and I grew up in this area but never had occasion to stay at Hotel Kenney...know a lot of the Kenney folks from the Jones Falls area..how were the accommodations?...lol..and in your initial post you DID ask for 'interesting'
Hotel Kenney built in 1890 and updated every 60 years, whether it needed it or not......

Booked room for 5, the only one with private washroom......and because I never book a room that doesn't have a window

and a close up..................

The proprietress?manager? insisted I needed a reservation for dinner ????? because the restaurant closes at 7:45 PM????
Beside me there were 2 other couples for dinner, one completely preoccupied with a fly apparently the same one that was at their table for lunch?????
and another couple that didn't utter one word to each other thru the whole time. possibly zombies.
The information card I was handed said the office was open until 10 PM from June to September, but when I went to ask why the heat and the air-conditioning were on at the same time and could someone please unlock the thermostat and turn off the baseboard heaters, and why wasn't the internet working??? the office was closed at 9 PM.
To my e-mail complaint next day they offered that it said the office closed at 9 PM on "trip Adviser" which apparently I would have known if only I had an internet connection.
Yup, Interesting indeed. ;)

I thought the whole thing was pretty funny, always happy to have an adventure.
RV's not for me, my idea of getting away from it all doesn't involve taking the kitchen with me. ;)
It was obvious from some of the old pictures that there was a wading pool and a swimming pool at some point in time, now filled in, so my guess would be that's where the bodies are buried.
