Good Morning!
Good afternoon!! Been cleaning my room. NOT that I wanted to at all... but was waiting for my cat in the windowsill to go pee, so I could try and get a sample. When the vacuum started, she wanted OUT. So out she went.
Around 4am... she woke me... and wouldn't lay nice, and be pet... and when I realized she was positioning for a PEE in my bed, I woke up fast!! I pushed her on the ground and waited to see what the hell she was up to. She was trying to pee on the rug next to my bed. She then walked around to the other side of the bed, and tried to pee on that rug. She went into her litterbox, and I noticed there, she had blood on top of that gross clumping at litter. And, when back in my room.. mucous and stuff.
So... phoned emergency vet in Brantford, as ours is closed this fine holiday of course, and well, with all the symptoms of a UTI, they didn't want to give her meds, until they did an urine test. Bladder was too small... so no luck there. After $130 with take home pain meds... suggested I go to my own vet, and get them to address it. Brantford has NO ultrasound to look at bladder to get a sample either with a needle thru the gut... or see if there are stones. Ugh.
So, I KNOW it will be another $130 +... because of urine collection/testing... and drugs if need be, or other.
Be quiet Ross.... I love my cat, lol.

Good Morning!
I think community gardens or allotments are very important. Many people in the UK have these (we did) when you don't have space to grow you rent a plot for a nominal fee and grow your own. Back then it was double digging too, no cultivators.

Good Morning!
Yep, same in Germany. Folks have a "garden shed" and they'll spend the weekend in their shed vs their hot apartment (since almost nobody has ac there).Killerbunny wrote:QR_BBPOST I think community gardens or allotments are very important. Good Morning!
Morning y'all
I got bounce in my walk today! Woohoo!! Now to find a balance between getting a serious backlog of outside and inside work done and not over doing it.
Heading out shortly for blood work and blood pressure again and I'm confident today is my 'release day' from these tests. I've resorted to wearing long sleeves as my arms are a flipping mess which is a wee bit of a struggle in this weather.
Going to put some 'suspected' Muscovy drakes for sale (approx 5 weeks old) geeze, I can't even remember how old they are. Will have to look it up. ... anyone need a duckling or two? If not, off to the auction they go on Friday.
In Dunnville the local farmers market is small. Some grow their own and sell. Some have some crafty stuff. Some sell eggs, which I don't think they are allowed, but whatever, doesn't bother me. The ones who sell their own produce or food land ontarios produce are priced above what I'm willing to pay for the most part. It's a struggle for me and I address it with the vendor, but I can't justify $4/head of romaine lettuce. I can walk across the road to food basics and pay $1/head for Canadian or Ontario romaine this time of year. They claim they can't reduce their prices, but the flow and marker size is very small and I'm convinced in order to get it growing changes need to happen. We have a very big cottage community here they could benefit from, instead food basics and Sobeys parking lot is jammed.
Anyways, lots to do. Hope everyone has a good day. It's going to get warmer as the week goes on. This is not the weather I like to read about. On a happier weather note, I found plenty of these on my property this weekend! We get our leaves early in the spring and we also start to turn every year around August. Wooohooo. What comes after red leaves? Snow!!! Where's my shovel??

Good Morning!
morning everyone!
got a bit of rain yesterday! yay! strange weather though...the clouds were popping up and raining out in place....no wind, no nothing. fencing is done, and half of the area that was the driveshed and old barn is cleaned up for nails. not finding too many now. incredible the mess that the roof on those made, must have had 3 layers of shingles, and all the nails that go with them, with rotten (or not much) board left...TONS of nails fell out. i'm pretty sure the tractor tires would be okay, they're pretty thick, but still....we'll finish up the rest this week sometime. Looks like another hot week on the way! i can't wait for fall. at least it was cool last night. everything was all foggy and quiet, the barn fans were off at our place and the pig farm down the road, and then i woke up like a shot because it sounded like the barn fan was on and going to blow up! finally figured out through the fuzz in my head that the neighbour was idling his transport truck having just arrived home......that thing will be dead on the road in a day or two i'm sure!
Had new potatoes from the garden. OMG melt in your mouth! nothing like fresh from the dirt. LOL. and i actually saw one monarch butterfly. And only one....i haven't found any caterpillars or eggs on the milkweed. we have swallowtails like crazy though, all through my parsley LOL.
letting the little munchkin chicks out to run around for the first time this weekend. first day, 2 feet out the door. second day, 3 feet out the door. third day they were brave and made it all the way to the red shed (about 30 feet). this morning, straight across the lawn into the horse paddock LOL. I'm going to grow out the boys outside this month. but the girls (and keeper cockerels for my breeding programs) are moving into the barn tonight after dark. easier to just lift them off the roosts with a flashlight than chase them all over the place. nice to see them roaming around anyways.
much much better than a fishtank or tv!
hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. bvf i hope your girl feels better soon! my last bout with Rose was 6 weeks injectable penicillin to clear her up....but she made it! hopefully the vets can fix her up.
sandy, i'm with ya. 20 degrees cooler please!!!! LOL. glad you are feeling a bit better too! don't get dehydrated working outside!!!! lots of gatorade or lemonade or something water PLUS....it's going to be a warm one.
