Aw jan....i am so sorry.
Take a bit of time to regroup...let the police go after the )(#*$(*% that did this, and then get the dog you want and make them pay for it.
i would seriously report the driver, and give the police a go at him. if there are marks on the road they'll be able to figure out what happened.
HUGS.
Then come down my way-there was a gorgeous german shephard that bayvistafarm put on facebook, in copetown, down here the rescues aren't going "as" crazy. but they're still crazy. Try to adopt something from a rescue and holy smokes. so many people i know turned down because they are on a farm, or only have 100 acres, but no fence to keep them in. or OMG they might get stepped on my a cow! OMG!
bubble wrap the rescues and assume everyone is out to hurt the dogs. sigh.

Absolutely terrible Jan... Hope the murder instinct has subsided a bit (although I am totally there)
I used to foster for one of the "rescue" groups, but bailed out when it became a money making operation several years ago.
Now look at Ross and his little beauty , there is a great dog waiting for you out there for sure.

I feel so bad about Askem being hit. Really glad you know who it is that could have done it. Also glad you're chilling a bit about it. Definitely see if police can get after him. Next time this person could hit another person.
Finding another dog is a whole other journey, but there is one out there for you.
We'll keep our eyes/ears open this way for any.

Thats terrible about your dog Jan. I cannot believe the stupidity of some humans. Poor doggie. Poor you. I think I would have gone out of my mind, and tried to seek him out and do him some real damage. I'm getting worse in my old age for wanting retribution for some things. I hope you find the dog of your dreams. There will be one out there with your name on him/her.

Oh no, that's just awful, Jan! The poor little moppet. I hope he didn't suffer.
I'll keep my ears and eyes open for any dogs that could be a good fit. What traits are you looking for?
