Looking good! And I see it didn't take them long to trash their nice grassy pen. Ditto here.

Looking good!! flock is growing in leaps and bounds :)
Even my runs with no chickens in them don't look very good, not much hope for improvement if it doesn't rain soon.

Oh, yes, I over seeded in April, clover and timothy which I do every year in the two
runs One 20'x30' and one 14'x25' that will "hopefully" have chicks in it in August. Before I set the eggs. You would think I was well ahead of the game.
Then I tried desperately to actually drag watering cans there for about a month, while repeating to myself... "It's not dead it's dormant"....
So the small run, sprouted and died and the little that I managed to coax to life isn't anything that I have either seeded or was there last year, basically crab grass and lamb quarters. The larger run has grown some of the clover in the most peculiar formations of strips, everything else is gone including the usual pig weed and raspberry shoots.
Chicks ready to go out, I am a bit embarrassed to show them what is on offer

If it ever rains, just throw whole oats, wheat or barley down- instant grass. (sans chickens of course!)

Looking and growing well. Ha! Ha! Did we ever have green grass this year? I can't remember.
