Help with Identifying.....

Post by JimW » Tue Jul 19, 2016 10:53 pm

I have a bunch of this wild flower growing at my place. Anyone know what it is? The bees love, lots of honey and bumblebees feeding on it.

Thanks

Bugloss -Blueweed...
At least it looks like it, plenty of it blooming around here, we still laugh about it, when we moved here I kept asking everybody if they knew what the blue weed was called, turns out it's called ... you guessed it, Blueweed. ;)

I think the roots of that plant produce a red dye, but not water soluble.
Also flowers and leaves dried and powdered can be made into a paste and used externally for inflammation.
We don't have any in our area here.
