Barn cat anyone?

Post by Brebis » Thu Jun 09, 2016 9:45 am

We have to move at the end of the month and are not sure about our new place and whether it'll have a barn or outbuildings we can use.

So, I'd like to find a new home for "Claude" a grey neutered male barn cat. He arrived last year, and has been an outdoor cat since as we have 2 indoor cats. He's very freindly - to the point you trip over him!

He's a great mouser and ratter and gets along well with our free range chickens and turkeys but I haven't had any chicks out so suspect that would be iffy.

I know there are others who often are looking for a chicken friendly barn cat and would love to find him another home. We got him to help with a serious rat problem last year and he's been great in keeping them under control.

Brebis, maybe put up in classified as well? Just a thought. Good luck with finding him a home

Here's Claude on the deck hanging out with a few of the chickens cleaning up the Niger seeds below the feeder.
Oops, guess I better clean the patio door window!

Darn. I wish I had a barn. Or a property big enough to build one. He sounds like a great cat. Sorry, but I can't help you out ATM, but will keep my ears open for anyone who may be looking for an awesome barn cat.

Yes, we still have him.
We're moving to Cherry Valley later this week and were going to bring him with us if he didn't find a home. I'd rather him have a barn to keep him occupied as he's best as an outdoor cat since we have 2 indoor cats that don't get along.
You're welcome to come and see him. I'll pm our address and phone number.
Cheers, Stephanie
