Here is info on how they control sea lampreys using chemicals, traps, barriers.... www.glfc.org/sealamp/how.php
Salmon charters are great fun. I am going back out with an old friend of mine and his kids next Saturday for another salmon charter.

Thanks Jim, going to check that link out now.
I don't like motors on boats, but I'll jet ski. Go figure. Think they do salmon kayaking? LOLOLOL!

When I looked under 'status', Lake Ontario & Lake Michigan seem to be manageable in the sense that numbers are under fifty-ish thousand, but the others have a much higher population. Very interesting.
I will be following this. The lamprey eel. It's caught my attention. Although my main focus for the last few years is for government to stop talking about the Hamilton Harbour (Randle Reef) clean up action and actually get some frigging work done. So much money has been budgeted, yet nothing is being done. That's how you know it's an absolute catastrophe. Ok, rant done.

I know a couple people that troll from their kayak, usually in the fall on the Bay of Quinte for walleye or for lake trout on smaller lakes. Plus they was a guy on one of the fishing message boards I am on that attached rod holders to his jet ski and he trolls for salmon.

I used to troll from our 16 ' canoe but Donna got older & tired easy on the paddle so she bought me for her a 12 V trolling motor we hooked up & worked fine . That was back in the day when my knees would bend to sit in a canoe . Lol Luck

We use to troll for bass from the canoe, Now after so many years in the army abusing my body I don't use the canoe as much as I use to.
