Pouring rain here. Rain!! Blech. Cold... damp... goes right into you cold. I hate that!! But, I am NOT thawing water dishes, lol. Everyone got an extra helping of straw... because they like to go out in the rain you know... and then it trickles off their backs, onto the fresh bedding. They will need more tonight.

Delivered some rent cheques. Can't pay them all... yet. Have to wait for my 2 last quarter HST money to come in... and a cattle cheque for two cull cows, and a finished animal. Even then.. its cutting it close in the bank. Its all those 'come out automatically' bills... you have to watch. Stressful time of year... keeping a close eye on the bank balance... and telling hubby who is going to get paid.. etc. We are NOT to sell anything else... until January... or then pay income tax. We did our year end last Tuesday. At least we can pay ONE huge bill on visa... and not pay that until near Feb... but the statement date will show Dec.

Did I say I hate bookwork????????

The Dr. called with an ultrasound date, yahoo. Said I didn't want to deal with it, until January. So... Dec. 28th it is. A vascular ultrasound, on my pretty blue mottled whole entire leg. WHAT NEXT?? One of my land rent people asked me what was on my christmas list.. and I said.. a little piece of lead... about 'this' big... and put 'right' here, lol. Getting tired.

Enough of the whining. We have one more christmas party.. here with our kids/grands on the 26th. Took the turkey out last Friday.... its almost completely thawed... was just killed a month ago. I like letting freshly killed turkeys sit about 12 days in the fridge.. but this one was put in the freezer.

I need NEED to wrap gifts. Not done a ONE. But.. this room is decorated... sort of. I'm not bothering doing any other room in the house. We mainly sit in here anyhow. I included a picture of my scratchy christmas tree. Pretty nice, considering most of the truck facing the wall has been deer rubbed, and this tree would have died anyhow. We usually top the big trees... some of them are more than 30 feet tall now!!

Morning Y'all

Well, despite saying I'm not going to be swamped over the holidays, I'm swamped. I'm heading east tomorrow and will be back in a few days. Yes y'all get a holiday from me :) the forum should be nice and quiet for a few days, ramble free.

Josh has a sign in for if he has any questions, concerns or to just browse. He's on flock, bunny, cat and dog duty. I'm his first call and the forum is back up. I'm sure he'll be on .. If for nothing else, curiosity. Josh T-M is his user name. I can't guarantee he'll post a topic(s) in the right area...took me a while to get it sorted in my head. I told him worst case just pm Al, Poultryadmin, Kathy or go into the good morning thread, where everyone seems to meet up. Someone will read it there for sure. He's also been instructed to not believe anything y'all tell him! ☺️

Thankfully we don't do gifts. Not one. We don't gift and we don't accept gifts. When I hear about how busy malls are with the chaos and expenses, I just smile....not like its politically correct to say nah-nah-nana-nah so a smile does the job! We donate the same amount of money we would spend on gifts to a few chosen charities. Although this is better received now, it was not the case when I divorced the bull paddies in Christmas a few years ago. Good thing It didn't matter what anyone else thought (it rarely does), I was done! Kaput. Finished. Expired.

I'll be spending the holidays with some family up east ... First time in ... Well I can't remember. My daughter is 25 and it's been since she was very young, maybe even a toddler, so it's been quite a long time. The good thing is, I'm very non-committal so if it's not all it's cracked up to be I'll be home earlier than expected, but I suspect all will be fine.

I'm tired of baking lol. I need to finish it up today so I can hit the road tomorrow.

Hoping to meet a few forum members along the way and connect with Doug The Chicken Man and go Silkie shopping. Merry Christmas to me! Expect pictures upon my return :)

Think I'll go drop a few in the humour section ... Can't guarantee the laugh metre for everyone.

I wish everyone the BEST for the holiday season. Family, good friends and reconnecting is what it's all about. Stay safe, be happy ❤️

(I know some family members can be assholes .. Take the good and leave the bad)

Good Morning everyone! Tuesday...have to keep reminding myself it's Tuesday. Farrier comes this afternoon....then work tomorrow then holidays!!!! and i doubt tomorrow will be a full day...only a few things to finish up. the rest of the lab has the entire week off, i'm just so far behind i decided to go in a couple days this week and try to get something done.

Have a really safe and wonderful trip SandyM. And a very Merry Christmas, good food, friends and company.

Hubby is definitely sick. darn. at least we're headed into holidays so he'll have a lot more time for naps. naps are GOOD.

yay! longer days!!!! that honestly is really the only part of winter i would change if i could....the dark. get up in the dark, go to work in the dark, come home in the dark. but this year, it's SOOOOO nice to have LIGHTS! in the BARN! the new barn! i still think of it as "new". exactly 1 year ago they were just getting the framing up...posts were in, holes filled in, and the framing was continuing! and it was COLD! and i was sooooo very excited to have it just going up. i still love it! i even enjoy sweeping it out! lol. go figure (i really should clean my house).

okay, onwards with the day-i did enjoy sleeping in though. very much.
have a great day everyone!!!!

Good Morning, it's Pea soup Wednesday here, will plunge in to it to go babysit with the new grandson, glad I am not flying anywhere this year, looks like airports will be a bit of a zoo this morning.
Then will attack the turkey (it's in the fridge just need some dissection) for Christmas dinner which will be Sunday. I ordered some snow for it, hope it's coming. Have a safe one!
