Looking good Sandy!
Good morning all,
Moved chicks in to the brooder, good Ameraucana crop, although the Black to Blue 50/50 didn't really materialize 12 Blue 4 Black isn't going to give me the 6 Black pullets I was after. Only 5 Columbians, very disappointing, another load of Wyandotte eggs in this morning and that will be it for me..

Just noticed something interesting. The broody turkey brought out the smallest chick which just hatched yesterday in her wing. Just carrying it in the curved wing.

earlier today before i cut the grass prolly around 11 I decided to test out our "crawl space cold air return A/C"... thermostat is set to 24ºC and its 24ºC in the house. it comes on every 15 mins or so for 5mins. circulates the air from the house down into the cold air return which is like 40' long under the house and then back into the house as cold air. Man we have central air without even having it! its 30ºC outside in the shade right now.

OC they are sooooo cute though, the blacks will all be roosters anyway, that's how it works around here.

What a great evening. Humidity has finally dropped here.
Just waiting on last 2 eggs from hatch number 4. Have 2 more Isbar (yay!!) and 16 Serama and some project birds(9) for my youngest daughter. Will post pics in the morning.
Let the goats out for a munch fest. Love that they can eat all the plants I don't want (hogs weed in particular). Saves me digging them out.
Got my eggs from Newfoundland this morning; 11 Isbar, 7 Maran and 6 Svart Hona for Jim. Just letting them rest then will candle and set tomorrow night. Was a little disappointed in the quality of the Isbar eggs, but need to keep fingers crossed.
Hope everyone has a great evening.

Evening all, I just keep getting later and later, came home an hour ago from picking up big bales... my daughter Cathy and a couple friends are still out there... I picked up the grands, fed them and got them to sleep, glad school is almost over. Supposed to rain tonight, that's the reason for the push for the hay, over 300 big bales and 9 wagons of small bales all in the barns and sheds. tomorrow will go after the wrapped rounds if it doesn't rain too much and make muddy fields, might just take the day off and play with the kiddos. I cleaned out the scrape alley in both the steer barn and cow barns and bedded both too. Had another heifer calf and the beast penned in with the new momma bucked the little tyke right through the bars of the gate...that bi**h is gonna go to the auction.... she raises a good calf but always hurts at least one or two others, just a nasty old thing.
Hubby just discovered the hovabator humming along up in his workshop in the pole barn....lol, busted!!! Blamed it on the grands, lol ....yes I think I'm an addict, oh well, night all, Hay

As promised, here are some pics from our last hatch. There are 3 Seramas from an earlier hatch, but they are still smaller than the day old Isbar and EE. Only 4 or 5 more hatches to go until later this year. Need to build another grow out area!.
