Weirdest sound I ever heard was an American Bittern, was taking the dogs for a walk and it followed me around the block, this booming sound I couldn't place, got home and followed the sound, they were at the creek in our back, pretty funny birds, but what a voice!

Oh thanks OC, I was wondering what that bird was called. They stand at the edge of the pond like a piece of driftwood until you see them move. The video is not working for me but is it a loud "whoop plunk, whoop plunk" sounding noise? Sadly this is another bird that were driven off by the Canadian geese.

Now last week two birds landed in our field and they were really really tall. At first I thought it was two last year fawns because they were eating and they were a brown colour. They were much much taller than the geese or turkeys in the field with then. Any ideas?
