FIRST ANNUAL PTO PIKNIK WEEKEND-JULY 23!!!!

Maximus wrote:QR_BBPOST I'm working on it. Home situation has changed. I need to make sure the flock is in good hands. Should be do-able, but I really can't give 100% for my attendance just yet. Also not sure if that is the weekend the pup is ready for pick up, my commitment hinges on my girls arrival. I'll email the breeder and attempt to get an ETA.

Accomodations on the other end should be fine, I have family up that way. Wendy (goatgirl35) and I plan to travel together if I can make this happen.

I'm undecided as to what to bring and I'm open to suggestions. Kabobs? Meat? Veggie? Combos? All suggested? I make some interesting but yummy salads. I don't mind waiting till closer to the date and helping to fill a void Jan.

I'll definitely make and bring some buttertart squares with raisins!! I might even share hahaha!

**Everything I bring will be peanut, nut and soy free**

Ok, pup pick up is that weekend, but breeder is fine with following week or weekend for pick up. Definitely won't hurt the pup to be with mom for an extra week. Now to get a commitment for flock, dog, cat (possibly a few ducklings) and bee daycare and all should be good :)

Jan,

I'm hoping this week or into the weekend to go through this thread and put what info we know into a spreadsheet. Who's coming, who is bringing what etc.
We need to know who is coming so people have an idea of how much they'd like to bring of what.

Sounds like micro managing a bit, but I can't think with 'data' all over the place.

I'm wondering if I can share the spread sheet on here? I guess I'll figure it out.

Then we should consider things like condiments, utensils, etc. Do people have homemade relishes? Ketchup? Etc to bring. Or should we ask someone to be delegated for it?
Utensils. We need to talk about this.
Liquids. Are people bringing their own to keep in a cooler? Water etc? I suspect alcohol will be each consumers responsibility.

Sounds great, I can't think with data all over the place either, and haven't had time to compile. Martin, is there someway to upload a spreadsheet or similar file and make the text editable by all?

yup google sheets in combination with google forms.
works like a charm.
I would caution against EVERYONE being able to edit though. we have 500 registered users and over 1500 guests cruising by. They include ~20 spammers looking to cause trouble ( those come daily!).
I'll gladly set something up for you with key people having edit rights. Forms are save to use where everyone is filling out their info and submits. The collected info can be visible to all, so they can see if there are shortfalls in the desert department....

Can I ask you to start thinking about the info you want to gather from everyone?
- # adults coming
- # kids coming
- allergies they have
- which they bring (main course, desert, appetizer, soup, ....)
- description of what they bring
- for how many portions they bring
- which allergen it contains
- chairs/table they bring
- does it need power (like a crock pot), does it need cooling, does it need ice, does it need bbq (that they don't bring)?

you guys know more than I, ....

I'll have some time tonight waiting for a CT I can whip something together and show you what I mean. We can go from there.

Hello All,
I think it's good to go public now.

Can everyone coming please fill out the form to the best of their knowledge?

Since it's still a month out, things might change with your plan. If so, please just fill it out and submit again.

Thanks!

If you are interested in what people are bringing to make sure there is no duplication, have a look at this spreadsheet.
