When I candled my eggs, there was only a few I could see movement.
I knew they were still growing since the air sack had gotten bigger.
There were about 5 that I was pretty sure were dead, because they looked different than the others.
I put a giant ? on the egg to see if I was correct.
BUT I was WRONG! I'm so glad I didn't ditch the eggs.
The ones with ? were the last ones to hatch, so they were smaller.
3 of the 5 ?'s hatched....my advice it to leave them.
IF they are turning green or smell bad, then I'd pitch them.
GOOD LUCK on your HATCH!!!

I candle day 10 most of the time but not always-and throw out clears and obvious blood rings. Then i candle at lockdown-day 18 for chickens or 25 for turkeys. The egg should be almost totally dark. Anything half dark or less gets tossed. When in doubt i leave it in the incubator-if it hasnt exploded after 18 or 25 days chances are it wont.
You wont always see movement of the embryos-they "sleep" too-periods of activity interspersed with no movement...so it all depends on when you candle. Could be that its just not moving when you look.

It's funny sometimes when you candle a light egg you can see it saying "get that light out of my eyes" as it moves away!
