All right so I made a bigger incubator. :-) okay just kidding but I figured a way to turn my 90 egg incubator into a 108 egg incubator... 6 x 18 pack egg cartons in place of the flats :-) HAHAHAHAHAHA then i filled it to overflowing capacity LOL. I put 117 eggs in, I a few im just going to turn by hand until I remove some duds... then I'll fit them in the trays... maybe... LOL.

I moved the eggs I had in there over to the hatcher, Im only stopping them a day early but I'll increase the humidity tommorow night on time.

54 blue band RIR
23 green band RIR
21 Light Brown Leghorn
19 Beltsville Small White Turkey

YEEEHAAAA!

:coolguy:

I think I need a bigger barn... oh wait I have one!!! ;-)

I count "One Hundred & Seventeen" Al.....amazing!!!!
What will you do with so many birds?

I'm GREEN with envy that you have a barn!
Hubby built me a nice size coop - 335 sq ft + 200 sq ft meshed enclosure.
It's a great space but I'm constantly having to reduce my flocks.
I can't wait to see your hatch...I have about 6 days til my hatch!!!!
(by the way, what does it mean Blue Band & Green band? Different blood lines )

HAHAHA THANKS! and good luck with your hatch!

Well im building up a really really great breeding flock! the green band/blue band are different breeding pens and the are all from the same blood line. I bought these birds from English River Poultry out of Quebec. the Blue band is mainly my original foundation flock consisting of 4 hens and my original cock. In January I was so very lucky to get my hands on a new high quality cockeral with a reserve win behind him that was destined for BobG in BC, THANKS Bob! Green band has this Cockeral and my best 2 hens. Im going to be showing my first show at the next APA show in Sarnia next Jan/Feb as and any birds that dont meet the requirements will be placed in my freezer to support my family.

I started with birds for meat and eggs, I was always looking for real RIRs and couldnt find them. they are not easily found. when I did I was sooooo lucky that I was the one who saw the add first and bought and paid for them immediately. if I waited they would have been gone as many people tried to buy them right after I did. I am sooooo very grateful to be working with this line and Im breeding them right! keep the best, eat the rest!

Have a great day!

Such a CUTE hatch!!!!
You are going to be eating eggs ALOT!
We go thru about 6 a day, but there are more eggs than we can eat.
( that's why I'm hatching MORE birds - ha ha ha )

I have checked my Incubator about every hour!!!!
Hatch date is "tomorrow" (21) but I had "Hoped" the Banties would come a day early.....but NOOOOOOOOO
As the saying goes "a watched pot never boils" ~ it's the same with a hatch.
( the brooder is all set up & Ready ~ but NO chicks - eeeek! )
CONGRATS on such a Great hatch rate!
