Trail/Game Camera for catching repeat vandal?

What're your thoughts on the application of this? Have a friend, older woman, whose property is being vandalized in creepy ways (including screws in her tires). My first thought was game/trail cameras - would something like this work to catch the jerk? She has no dog that would bark, also an urban area.. But the house is quite large and the lot is treed, lots of places to hide a camouflaged cam, right?

Better than nothin . I have one here for 2 & 4 legged & flying predators . But you still have to physically manage them unless you have ones that hook up to phones or computers & still someone has to check . Most times even ones stores use are blurry like Bigfoot . She could call police department & see if they would come out & go over outside security ie lighting , removals of some trees bush etc . They will here .Redators are cowards & like to hide . Luck

for sure better than nothing as Ross said. Be aware though that if found the person doing it will probably just steal the camera too....if she has a window that is close to where the stuff is happening, you can get a half decent wireless camera and put it inside the house looking out. it demands a bit of computer know-how to set up, but you can get good lenses for them. we have several on our place, and it's helped a few times in getting plates for people driving up our driveway and backing out before we go out, had a couple leave in an awful rush when they found people were home....also got the neighbour snooping through my run in and allowed me to get him notified it had to stop...LOL

We use one and have it steel cable and padlocked on the tree to help reduce the chances of theft of the device. But having it inside will definitely help. It still needs to be accessible to change batteries.
