Alaska is on my list next year. And I don't mean touring the city, I want to hit the Yukon and travel by road into Alaska and explore natures abundance. Oooooo road trip! Excited already.

I live in the country. A holiday is city or all-inclusive on a beach.

You just have to throw the GPS out the window and make some wrong turns to find yourself in the best places! Been there done it and didn't come home with a t-shirt! No tourists shops around!

I worked oilfield most of my life, lived out of a suitcase for over 30 years. Saw a lot of the world on someone elses dime. But I got the chickens and goats knowing it would time me down. I like being in my own bed every night. I was also fortunate in traveling for work, always with a native to show you the stuff the locals do, take you places you probably wouldn't otherwise go. I have been privileged.

I just bought plane tickets yesterday for our first big family vacation in awhile. In 2011 I took a group of students to Costa Rica and it was a great experience. I wanted to take another group of students plus my 2 daughters to Costa Rica this past March Break, but could not get enough students interested, so cancelled trip plans.

Well we still wanted to go, so we booked flights for myself, my wife and our 2 daughters for December 28 to January 5th. We are doing a private, custom tour, I did not want the hassle of renting and driving in Costa Rica, so we have booked a driver/guide and a vehicle for just the 4 of us on our 9 day adventure. Now we are working on what we want to see and do. Can't wait!!
