2 questions

Those of you that have the styrofoam incubators
What do you use to disinfect after a hatch
I rinsed mine with hot water for now?
Do you spray them down with a bleach solution?
Also the fan is full of chick fluff. Do you blow this out or is there another way to clean that

Next question is. What is this egg? Is it just not developed yet or is there something wrong with the hen it came from. Pic below

I spray down with hydrogen peroxide ($store)after the hot water and soap treatment. UV light is good too after cleaning - just put it out in the sun (assuming we get some soon).

I wash mine in soapy hot water (the styrofoam bottom part). Then wipe out with water and bleach, rinse with hot watercand sit in the sun to dry - when theres sun. Lol
The fan assembly i wipe off with a barely damp cloth or papertowel and blow the dust out of the fan.

Cant say i have ever seen an egg like that...i would see if it happens again and if so then try to figure it out otherwise it may just be a one off. To me looks underformed and no shell-hard to tell without actually poking at it from here lol.

I always use Virkon on the Incubator.

I was even wondering about blowing the fan out with the same air can you can use on cumputer keyboards etc. Have a compressor in shop but it would probably blow the little fan apart!

The egg. I broke open and it did have yolk in it but it was sorta "thick" and maybe "milky"???

so the egg might have just got hung up in the tract somewhere, and the body temp will end up "cooking" it a little bit if its held up. if she's a young hen, or an old hen, these things aren't that uncommon....

Not sure who is came from. It was on the

tray. I have had few with no shells
I keep oyster shells out for them all the time so hopefully will correct itself
I thought it was sorta cool with the long piece in the end

A pipe cleaner is good for taking the dust out of the fan.
