I don't think my boy can handle a strong female. Hubby says he feels for him LOL!

Good Morning!
Ya, it is. Hubby went out at 2:30am. I met him on the road at 6:34 AM... gave him the newspapers blowing around in the sub zero winds..... and he said he was done. Its chore time now for both of us. The coffee is drank. I am hoping that the eggs under my broody turkey girl have hatched or are. Course, she got OFF the eggs, when Tom boy tried to frig with her, and she went into the horse manger, on eggs she must have laid, when she was perching. They weren't too too cold... but thats when the nice spring night time temps went down to -12C of course.Bobbi wrote:QR_BBPOST Is it REALLY SNOWING in APRIL?!!? REEAAALLY??
I'm sick of it too. Contracts for the guys have been extended for a week. They are usually up April 15th. What does that tell you??

Good Morning!
Good news. I did a bad thing and tried to candle a turkey egg at 6 days. YAY, it's fertile! Thank goodness BSWs are easy to candle. Now we've just got to keep it going!

Good Morning!
Why is it a bad thing? I start candling at day 3. I just candled a bunch or Dorking and Brabanter at day 3 and I was so excited cause most are fertile. Am I doing something wrong?Killerbunny wrote:QR_BBPOST Good news. I did a bad thing and tried to candle a turkey egg at 6 days. YAY, it's fertile! Thank goodness BSWs are easy to candle. No, not at all. I just couldn't keep my paws out and turkeys are slower to develop! Most people don't recommend candling until day 10. The BSWs have an easy egg to candle I find.

Good Morning!
well, if those eggs are under broodies you are MUCH braver than I....i have a palm girl that would take my head off if i try to check the 11 or 12 she's sitting on. so i'm going to wait and see what happens...day 28 should be sometime this coming week. i think...
why oh why is it so cold on april 8!!!! at least the sun is finally shining....snowed this morning or last night sometime....hopefully that will all melt, it's not much. but i'm sitting in my house with firewood to be delivered this afternoon (we're out) and the furnace going and i am COLD. gah. going to go and find my jacket soon....and it's not because it's cold in the house. sure hope i haven't picked up yet another illness going around work.
Windy too....i better go and get the halters on the horses for when the farrier arrives soon. enjoying being lazy though. at least the sun is shining, and all my seeds (almost) have sprouted in the window upstairs, and my orchid has decided to bloom again! today i'm sorting through saved eggs to set on monday, and locking down some turkey eggs today. going to try out the new sportsman hatcher!! Yay!
happy friday everyone!

OMG, no not broodies. None of my girls are broody yet. I wouldn't touch them without body armour. When Stephen got hurt I grabbed up some eggs and incubated them in case the worst happened.
