Hayladee what's up with the purple eggs? im very curious???

oh its much nicer out today! come back spring!!! we need ya!!!! I have no intention of keeping a whack load of chicks in the house.

speaking of which I put new legs on my big brooder and noticed I have tonnes of room to build another brooder right under it! so ill be doing that soon and cleaning out an area in the shop to put it... ohhhh sweet deal!

Al is your pellet rifle a .177 or .22 .

That's why won't go thru tin at that range . .177
In low FPS at longer range is a better choice for pest control .22 great for target . Luck .

oh ya I know... my furtherst accurate shot was prolly 30 yards on sparrows n starlings at the old place. lots of target practice on them. im so glad I dont have a problem with them here. so far... knock on wood!

SO Stephen is nearly OK but to change it up one of the girls launched herself out of the shed rafters onto the floor and is now lame (of course an original hen)! Phew, what is it with turkeys???? They have roosts and easy hops to get up and down but Nooooooo.

Had a wonderful weekend with the family. Both girls here on Sunday so we could go to the Garth Brooks concert together. It was amazing!!! Who would have thought the four of us could go to a concert, the two of us in our 50's, a 24 year old and a 19 year old, and all enjoy the music and sing along to all the songs!! My nineteen year old threw her arms around me halfway through the concert and said," Thanks Mom for getting the tickets, this is amazing!" Priceless!

Found out while at the concert that a student at her college committed suicide during the night. His residence roommate found him. So sad. You send your kid off to school you don't think they wont come home again. Had a wee chat with her about not letting the pressures of school get to her as we head to exam time.

I have one hen that just started laying about 2 weeks ago, first a tiny purply egg and ever since about every other day she lays a regular size one....she was with the olive eggers I raised last summer, pretty cool, the rest all lay olive eggs. she was in with the olive egger roo so don't know what she will produce ....I have a picture of the tiny egg and full size egg on here somewhere, Maybe in "fairy fart" thread

this might show up better, definite purple tint to the egg, any ideas what might have caused it?

Say you shooters Ross & Al & anyone else. I haven't done much shooting in a long time, but as a kid I loved the .22 short as I found a brand that was very accurate and used them for birds. (Last box I had was Imperials and they went out of business in the late 80's)
Or subsonic rounds for a .22 (Winchester advertises 1065 fps on a 40 grain hollow point) as I know them to be VERY popular for low noise shooting.
I imagine they'd still punch a hole in tin when chasing pigeons. As a kid I got darts for the pellet gun (.177) and found them better at killing pigeons.
Or you can get a good pellet gun (Beeman Arms) that'll shoot a pellet 1000 fps.
