TomK wrote:QR_BBPOST Wait!...lol...if the lake is perfectly round and you start at the exact northwest corner and swim east for 30 meters then south for 40 you are tempting pythagoras but how does that make the 50 meter side go thru the center of the circle..does the hypotenus (sp) always go thru the center of a circumscribed circle on a right angled triangle?
Yes, the hypotenus always goes through the middle of the circle.
That's actually how you make one with a compass. Start with the hypotenuse, find the middle, draw a circle around it. Then do the two sides...

But you do have me with the "exact north west corner" of a round lake.... I guess I needed to look a bit harder to find that corner.... roflmbo

Why I don't add to these: I am a student of Musashi: do not engage in useless activity.

Musashi also said: "Cultivate an interest in all the arts." "The Arts" as per traditional Japan were: 1. Bushido: way of the Samurai, including all martial (warrior) arts; 2. Flower arranging; 3. The tea ceremony; 4. Painting; 5. Caligraphy

Anyone know where I can take a course on flower arranging?

How does the Newfie confuse you? he finds one.

The first runner is first at the finish line. They both arrive at the line at the same time, but the "first" runner (lets name him First, is still named First at the end).
