Good Morning!

Post by SandyM » Thu Mar 24, 2016 7:50 am

Walked in my backyard to let everyone out this morning. Cloudy and rainy so it's a bit darker than normal. Who is standing in the bush staring at me?

Have we agreed that coyotes cross with Wolves yet? Hybrid?
A lone one. Head down staring at me. Too big for a coyote and possibly too small for a wolf but a lot of hair and looks like a shaggy mess. I screamed and yelled at it and ran towards it and it took off like a bat out of hell.
All before my first cup of coffee.

Everyone is locked in the pen.

Yotes are bigger and bolder than I have ever seen this year. I have a coy dog, she is lab, husky and yote. Some of the buggers we have coming in here are a bit bigger than her. They don't come one at a time here. Stay safe.

Morning all, home from delivering a load of hay and gobbling down fresh scrapple with honey applebutter...mmmm! I took a trip to the hardware store in town for an egg turner yesterday and popped those fellas in....then read the directions. (sigh) as usual should have done that first, had all the eggs in big side down and had to turn them all around. Also found I had 7 too many eggs in the bator so as they already started I gave them to the dogs....used mostly green eggs cause I couldn't see if they were growing embryos... too dark I guess, all but 1 had blood vessels starting. Felt bad but on the upside the rest are probably growing too.
Well off to the barn....later!

SandyM: now you need a gun on your hip at all times.

Or you see a yote, go back in the house (the yote will think he won the stare down), and get the gun, sneak back outside, and give the bugger a taste of hot lead!

Carla still tells the story of me outside in the moonlight only wearing white underwear holding a shotgun, ready for whatever made that weird noise. It sounded like my goose in distress.

no freezing here....but apparently east of here.....stay safe out there folks!

woke up to very harsh words being flung at me on messenger because someone can't figure out how to register before logging in....sigh. us admins are just people too....started off my day on a very bad note....sigh. :rain: and i do understand that 4s aren't circles....but i don't know how else to give a hint without giving it away totally...(a puzzle topic)..... i did my best folks.... and construction is starting in earnest here at work, i need to wear earplugs all day with the drilling going on. fun fun. today i feel a bit like this smilie.... :castaway: or maybe this one :Shark: think i'll go and find some caffeine and hide.

Sandy, my hubby says if the problem persists with the loading to reboot your router (if you have one) and restart your computer. He has already reset the server....hopefully that will solve the loading issue-but he suspects internet connectivity issues caused it (especially given the freezing rain etc).

Oh, and i did it last night. i ordered a sportsman. i have 3 hovabators, and can't keep up, so.....no clue when it will arrive, but when i finish the front room in the house they are going to be a fixture in that room, along with a dedicated area for hatching and smaller incubators and all my equipment. Probably put a sink and drain up there too, and nice big counter space for the pottery and soap making things both me and hubby are into. time to start planning!

hope everyone stays safe in the freezing rain, and that it all melts soon!

Sandy based on a presentation I was at a few weeks again by a grad student from Trent University who did his Masters on Coyote, Wolf and Dog genetics. The Eastern Coyote species is technically a cross between the Western Coyote (as that species traveled east a hundred plus years ago) and the Eastern Wolf (which is now only found in near North and Northern Ontario). Plus our eastern coyotes also have a small amount of dog DNA again believed to have been introduced many years ago in "pioneer times". The Eastern Coyote has "evolved" as a species over the last couple hundred years from those other species.

Congrats on the new bator. I struggle more than most with this new site, but it's me, not the site. I really suck at technology, and I am okay with that. I hope I have not caused problems or come acrossed as complaining at any time. The admins that have put this site together for us are wonderful. I hope you know how much most of us appreciate you guys and all your hard work. Hugs
