Good Morning!

Good news from TSC. My dog pens might finally get here by next weekend. Assuming he doesn't sell and manages to avoid trouble with Dad, Justin will get a separate pen until we can finish second paddock.

Good Morning!

YAY! good to hear KB. sometimes they can be a long time in coming in. i saw the dog runs for 50% off a while ago (about the time you wrote you'd ordered). kicking myself that i didn't order 3 to make outside runs for my turkeys. i'll just have to wait for the sale to come around again. but i have to level the ground some in that spot because right now it would leave a gap at the top of the fences against the barn and well, i'm 100% sure some turkey would try to hang itself in it-they sure aren't the brightest crayons in the box. my one girl is sitting and the other can't figure out that she can't be bred if she's sitting on the roost (even though she's making that invite call and posturing for the male) so the boys have started egging each other on across the fence. testosterone....geez.

got a new blue wheaten ameraucana cockerel from Micah (Kathy) yesterday! OMG he's such a sweetie! already fitting in beautifully. i can't wait to get him with the girls. together they should make some nice babies.....my girls are just 1 fault off show quality after 3-4 years of selected breeding between 4 bloodlines in canada-all 5 of them-they are 0.5lb underweight. sigh. and i lost all my blue wheaten boys earlier last summer, and then my wheaten boy this winter. my upcoming wheaten is okay, but i really wanted to keep the blue wheaten, and breed blue and black wheaten only and have no blue wheaten girls to speak of (the one i have eats eggs and will be processed this weekend because of it). this boy has some nice size on him, so i'm hoping that he can bring them up in size a bit in the next generation. THANK YOU KATHY for saving my ameraucana project for at least another 2 years....after dozens of hatching eggs being sold as ameraucana...and being easter egger on the e+ locus, or carrying e+, or some even were carrying eb and ER! i'll have to make sure to put the radio on in the barn-he sings to it....all the way home in the car last night LOL-not crowing, actually sounded like humming along with the radio. and he laughs...it's awesome.

tis friday. yay. this weekend is visiting bvf and avoiding whatever cold her grandson has...lol. and packing up eggs for shipping, and dropping off sweet potato shoots for FRF and Sandy (i'll bring extras if there's anyone else), and taking some apple tree cuttings to see if i can root them....and then i need to get things started for the garden, and move some birds around and process some boys. should keep me busy for the weekend. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Windows open today? I have the fire roaring and when I was out walking doggies there was freezing rain hitting us. House dropped to 59 and I drew the line when my feet were almost numb and started the fire.

Morning. Feels like mid afternoon over here.

Hatch with Broody Silkie is a no-go. Very sad for us and I feel sad for her. She was very devoted and determined, just didn't happen. In a few minutes she'll be returning to her flock mates and my goal is for her to get strong again before she goes broody again. A good month I'd say, she deserves it.

Deja the Sheltie will be heading home today. reasoning is in the Sheltie thread. Very disappointed. :(

Later this morning I'll be heading to the Toronto Sportsman Show.

Sky is pink and yellow, better get out and set everyone free! Have a good one!

Good Morning,
Bright and sunny today, wood furnace back on just for a bit anyway.
Cardinals are back as is the Pigeon Hawk, Pileated woodpecker is trying to take a large cedar down, and I can see the veg garden and most of the BBQ patio, so only question of bit of time now;)
Have a safe one!
