Good Morning!

Post by WLLady » Sun Mar 13, 2016 5:34 pm

Morning everyone (at 5:20pm). jet lag already...this time change is silly. oh well, i'll be adjusted by friday next week or so. :sighke1:

Very not busy day today i must admit. And i don't mind it at all! Let the layers all out to free range, they're having fun. Quick trip into london and back, decided that walking around stores is not my thing right now. takes too long and walk too far, even with the cane. :sAng_banghead: ah well. did get my rooting compound that i needed. and bonus, found some orchid fertilizer-and it was right beside the rooting compound so i didn't have to walk any further! I was given an orchid 2 years ago, when i had surgery before, and the thing bloomed for an entire year! i was about to hit it with fertilizer when 2 new flower stalks shot up, and they're almost ready to bloom now! so. i'm not even sure that i should fertilize it now or wait until it's finished blooming again. :chores:

So i trimmed and planted the fruit tree clippings that i had just tossed in water overnight..they're in dirt now and hopefully will do their thing. :xfingers:

Have to head out to do chores soon. started raining here a little while ago as i was cleaning up the months of dog poop off the lawn around the house now that all the snow is gone. absolutely incredible...we live on 112 acres, and there's this WHOLE BIG FIELD out there, they could use, but NOOOOOO must go right beside the front door.....why oh why oh why!!!? we were going to spread manure today, but never got around to it. oh well, lots of time yet. tons of swans and geese and gulls and terns flying over yesterday and today. and my crocuses are almost up, i can see the tips of the flowers! another 2-3 days and they'll be blooming.

okay, i think on saturday next week i might be making a run up to visit BVF. so if anyone needs anything moved from West Lorne area to Flamborough area. anyone needing anything taken/brought, let me know.
Have a great rest of the weekend everyone!

busy day today. Hunters Ed. Clocks forward. Meant I was up @ 4am. Meh. Not so much fun. However course was good. Aced it! 100% woohoo!!! Tomorrow is my restricted course. Then it's all the filing of paperwork etc. I still have to get my photo for my PAL and get it sent off. Just got it in mail on Friday.

Anyone else heading to the Sportsman show? Wednesday to Sunday. I'm going to head down on Saturday and check it out.

WLLady..Can you spare some sweet tater shoots? I can pick up from BVF week after when it's good for her?? (I won't be local on Saturday)

Cheers!!

Sandy if things go as planned I will be at the Sportsman Show on Saturday.

Driving (well wife is driving) home from Niagara Falls right now, family spend the weekend at Great Wolf Lodge.

Thanks for posting the photos WLLady. The mare and foal are both doing well. The mare had been behaving like she was in labour last night, but the foal must have had other ideas. Anyway, no issues with the delivery. Milked some colostrum from the mare to feed to the filly before she tried getting to her feet, and so when she did start trying she had a little energy boost. She's a pretty big, leggy, filly but she figured out standing and walking quickly. Will be fun to see her develop over the coming years.
