I'm going to try and make the effort to go this year. It could be very educational.

I was already so excited for this show and to top it off I have just learned that the American Silkie Bantam Club will be hosting a district 5 Silkie meet at this show!!! :running-chicken: :running-chicken: :running-chicken: Should draw out a lot of swanky Silkies to the competition! Cant wait to see what everyone brings

We have several meets that will be part of OPB this year . As normal we have APA & ABA meets.. this year we have the APA District meet as well as the Provincial for ABA. The other meets we have ( In order of them being placed) .. Brahma Club of America, Old English Bantam Club of America , Modern Game Bantam Club of America , American Silkie Bantam Club .and from what I understand there will be a Serama table top show. I am sure there will be others.. we have a few rules surrounding meets, and want to be asked about hosting them not just be told that there is a meet being held as it helps us organize the event and we can include the meet in our advertisments.

Do we have to belong to the APA/OPB to show?

No membership required to show ( for any of the meets) .. although there are many benefits to belonging to both organizations in the case of APA & ABA ... The year book ( that comes free with membership) is worth the price of admission in my opinion..in both cases. The awards offered by OPB are up for grabs for anyone ( no membership required) .. but anything offered by APA & ABA ( points or starred wins and other awards) you must belong to the associations to get ... as well most breed clubs are the same in that you must belong prior to judging to be eligible for awards offered by the club it self. Breed clubs are great for specialty breeders who have interest in the particular breed. In both cases APA & ABA as well as breed clubs.. they offer a second form of awards and form of competition for their members... Ie .. a breed club may offer specials ( awards ribbons , trophy ect ) for best and reserve in a variety with in a breed.. where as OPB will only be awarding Best and Reserve of class ie Feather Leg or say Rose Comb clean leg.. Hope this explains it if not PM me with your questions

It is a good way to get a straight opinion on the turkeys. Assuming I can keep them alive - after the breeding rip ups going on!
