Good Morning! <=2017
Good Morning!
When I was working at a small on farm sheep and goat dairy in the UK, the chickens would take any opportunity to sneak into the area where the cheeses were drying before going into the cooler if the door was left open. They'd peck at the fresh cheeses on the lower racks hoping no one would notice. Then we'd have to throw them out to the pigs...those were VERY happy chickens and Pigs lol!!! Never noticed them in digestive distress afterwards!
I give my Turkeys yogourt too and the love it. I put thawed green peas in it to help them eat it but they do manage to clean it all up out of the dish.

Good Morning!
Good Morning,
Waiting for a friend to come over who I haven't seen in a year. Her old bantam hen passed away and her little rooster is sad. I had my old rooster pass away last month and his little hen(Bitty) is all alone. My friend is gonna take Bitty home for her Rooster. I love when things workout like this. It is very spring like. I just came in with my basket of eggs and my pail of milk from the barn. A nice way to start a day. Enjoy

Good Morning!
Good morning! Walked into the back barn this morning, and there, on the ground a freshly dead chicken. One of the only two EO's I hatched the year 24 of 27 eggs were boys. Sheesh. So, only ONE EO hen left, thats young. She looked perfect. Comb not red, no injuries, just dead. Nice fluffy butt... no one is sneezing....coughing... no one is sick at all.
So, I really have a bag of dead birds since a few months ago. Been asking my hubby to get that bag, and bury them deep in the manure pile, when he scrapes the barnyard. GAWD, he still hasn't done it yet. Mostly old birds passing. I've got a lot of them. One guinea... don't know what was wrong with it.
Oh well. Cold enough they don't smell... but will. Thank goodness they are wrapped up in insulating feathers. I sure don't want them shallow enough to attract coyotes to the manure pile. They come up nicely on their own. They dig up the kitchen scraps/veggies peels... stuff we bury there, but not deep enough obviously. I sure don't want them to get a taste/smell of chicken.
Put the heater on in the brooder box in the end room of the "L". Washed all feeders and waterers, and bleached them. Brought shavings up here, and got the little heater on in the small box beside the bators... and lay down some paper towel... forgot to bring feed in tho. have a bag from last August. I hope its still good. Should hold them while the feed store gets some. I guess I am 'out of season', lol.
I was locking down last night, and heard cheeping going on in some of the eggs. So, theres life in there. Just had a coffee, and two of those cranberry/oatmeal/chocolate chip cookies I make... and love... and so now, I need to go to town sometime... just really don't want to. Have had the rent cheques from two of the family who live in the houses here on the farm... and a hay cheque, for awhile. I have to remember to take my central VAC hose down to the vacuum store, I ordered a new end months ago... they got the WRONG one naturally... and so they've had another in there for a good month. Keep forgetting.
Dave got his truck back yesterday. So, that torque converter... the proper one worked I guess. There was so much bull going on between them, and yelling... I wonder what will fly apart on the truck now. Makes you wonder what they could, or did do to it.. to cause grief... lets hope not.
Over $5000. So, add another two years truck payments on to the darn thing. He has 3 years left, before that. I think his boss is going to pay... and take it off his wages. I sure hope so... they don't take Visa. Hate it when people f around, and just don't do the job. Transmissions are there BUSINESS. Its not like its an old piece of crap, that they can't find a part for.
So, I guess I'm done bitching about the truck... for now.
