Rhonda wrote:QR_BBPOST Good news from Frisco Texas!! All 6 Canadian women wrestlers have qualified for the Olympics! Our Canadian champion at 75 kilo, Erica Wiebe, is from the same wrestling club as my daughter. She grew up in the next town from us and still comes and gives clinics and attends practices when she is home visiting her parents. Andrea can now say she has been thrown around by an Olympian! She was so proud last year when she won the referee's trophy at the Ottawa city championships...given to the wrestler with the best technical skill and sportsmanship...mostly because Erica Wiebe had won it in her high school years. She made sure she took a picture of Erica's name on it while we had it. Proud of our kick ass Canadian girls
To keep in the spirit of "been thrown around by someone famous"
I played Handball against Dirk Nowitzki (You might not know him, but according to wikipedia he is considered one of the greatest Power Forwards in basketball history).

I played against him when I was like 13 and he was really really good (and 10!) as forward in Handball as well. But I am proud to say I found a way to stop him and take him out of the game; legally off course (no yellow or red cards) and, yes, we won! The other teams didn't, so our teams frequently ended up ranked number 1 and 2. After a few years of this he decided to switch to basketball. Lots more money there! Obviously it was a great choice for him!

Guess i'm going to have to add a few levels for people like al huh? lol.
any ideas for funny names (chicken oriented of course!) for rankings just let me know....i'm kinda out of ideas....

Rhonda, i'll start a new topic....maybe everyone that's been through it can discuss....it's definitely NOT fun. at all.

Thanks all you guys! you guys are my extended family, i really appreciate it. The more i think about it, the more i'm happy with the appointment today. I do appreciate the conservative approach, and if it works it would be wonderful. the idea of someone removing chunks of bone that close to my spinal nerve roots bothers me a bit really....(wonder why...?)

i'm going to check out the pickers. i have an apple picker from lee valley, i tried it tonight. it's a little too big...it also doesn't fit into the nesting boxes....it's GREAT for turkey eggs, but the one tom really doesn't like it. LOL. i got hissed at. i knew jennies would hiss, but toms? that was a new one for me. amazon here i come to check things out....

have a great night everyone!

so i'm going to have to get busy making some tools. i want to put a little picking uppper basket thingy on the end of a pole for picking up eggs so i don't have to lean over as much to collect eggs.
I have a suggestion, based on recent experience with my hens, who decided that the far corner of the coop, waaay underneath the the poop board, was a much better spot to lay eggs than in their nest boxes: I use a ball thrower from Dollarama (the kind that launches balls for dogs to fetch) to retrieve them. That might work for you too.

Well in my Mum's case with her back the one Dr. wanted to do quite an invasive surgery at the time. She was leary of it and consulted with another who put her in traction treatments for about a year which greatly improved her pain and mobility. She still has to be careful and now that she is in her 80's she now has arthritis in her back an bone spurs, as long as she is careful she is good. She goes for physio, massage which helps.
