Good Morning!

Post by Maximus » Wed Sep 14, 2016 7:45 am

Morning,

Rainy day today. I'm on the road most of the day so that suits me (and my mood) just fine.

Five pullets, 3 Drake Muscovy ducklings went to their new home yesterday. One suspected Drake Muscovy wasn't having anything to do with leaving. He got out and stayed a million miles from me for the rest of the day. So he'll stay. Thanks Wendy, Goatgirl35, for bringing these guys home. It was nice to have time to chatch up and eat way too many buttertarts. My big rooster, infertile dude, went back home with Wendy too. One of the girls I think thought he was stolen, because she carried on for about 45 min after Wendy left. It was nice, but odd, to not be woken between 3 and 4am when he starts every morning.

Funny how the removal of those make everything seems so quiet and the flock so small. I'm down to 10 or so layers, I think. 4 Legbars; 1 cockerel and 3 pullets. And, can't forget my little incubator silkie. I really should get her a silkie partner one day, maybe she won't be such a loner. Then, I have my ducks.

Heading to north Brampton today. Lots of driving, so I better go and make a new playlist for the truck.

Have a good day everyone!

Cheers!

I just left the coop. The one I thought was an up and coming roo was in a nesting box checking it out. Wonder if he is a pullet. Very interesting.

Good morning,
Love the ball game/turkey combo travel plans, you guys make my mornings. :)
Looks rainy here, had to convince DH to let everybody out, he thought it might rain ? I need them all to cut grass now that it's actually growing.
Good day to put in garlic, only planting about 150 didn't grow enough last year and now it's a decision time...To plant or To eat...
Had an interesting speaker at the Horticultural soc. meeting last night, Dr James Coupland on the Power of Pollinators.
Right, better get at the garlic before the rains come,
Have a good one!

have a great trip baron!

just sold the reds to another PTO member :-) glad they'll go to a good home in a couple of weeks when they are picked up. yay!

my one cat had a pool "incident" yesterday. she fell asleep on the coping beside the pool stairs and rolled over....i had never seen a cat FLY before last night. i was working down there putting together a riser and there was a splash, a scream, a flying wet mass that streaked up the stairs....i caught up with her upstairs and got a big fuzzy towel....she settled down after a little while. but hasn't been back into that room since!

well, i just found out that excalibur doesn't make or sell the crankaroo anymore, and the C2 crank doesn't fit my bow. sigh. so i guess Martin will have to help me hunt this fall. Or, i'll need to cough up 700$ for a new bow-NOT happening. Insert huge sigh here. oh well. Maybe it's just someone upstairs telling me not to go this year. been talking with the excal folks, and they found the one store here in canada i found that had one listed on the website, well, i ordered that one, and it's not the right one, it's the new C2, and that doesn't fit...not even close. so returned it yesterday....

Managed to pick up the cold that has been plaguing my husband for the last few days...another sigh. found a box of halls so i should make it through the day okay. Almost ready to try the swimming in the pool soon. last night not so much....reminds me, have to email a guy about some acrylic sheets. better do that before i forget!

hope everyone has safe travels and a great day! oh, and don't forget to enter a photo to the october contest!!!!!

Kathy- call Steve or Kelly at 519-344-8137 from Outdoorsman in Sarnia on Mitton St. hes an Excalibur dealer... maybe just maybe he has one... he dosent have a website with current stock listed, just the brands ect that he carries... Steve is awesome to deal with... I used to live right across the street from him.
